Nightmare scenario and a binfest of biblical proportions on here about how we should have worked out some way to keep him here from more than few NSC posters. No thanks
I was referring to when he wanted out, as per Mellotron's post. You do accept he wanted out a few months before he was sacked I assume?
He was sacked after ,, shit I can't be arsed.
Maybe they did but the club looking didn't want to pay the compo, in fact I've seen something somewhere that suggested Sunderland were interested just before they appointed Di Canio but weren't willing to pay the compo, so they went with Di Canio
Whenever we have let players go it has been for...
Yeah well that's what happens when you've spent 4 years commenting on everything you are questioned about, even if it has nothing to do with you. Not sure I've heard him "pleading with everyone to forget about it" but coming over all coy is not something I've seen before. I suggest Sunderland...
Please stick around through the season and give us your thoughts if Gus gets the job
I am really interested to see how he does, how he's accepted and whether he will be less naïve in his after match and press comments.
I think you'll take to him even better than you did Di Canio...
Did Gus have the best job in football that a rookie manager has ever had? Such a shame the way it has all turned out, I wonder if he has regrets. Keeping his gob shut for the last 3 months of the season both to the board and in interviews would almost certainly have seen him as a Premier League...
So Gus has intimated, nay insisted, that he is taking this to court and this journalist finds it strange that the club haven't come out and explained the full details to the press in advance of any court case? Am I missing something here, or is this guy completely clueless?
I'd be interested in...
One of his dream jobs and he ain't gonna get the other one, I could see this happening if Sunderland and Fulham fall through and Leeds don't improve quickly.
This bit intrigues me. I'm not convinced, to use an old cliché, a leopard can change it's spots. Everyone can see he needs to be more circumspect in interviews. The ironic thing is that if he had said the right things after the playoff semi final, he may already have the Premier League job he so...
Most managers have at least some respect for other manager's already in a job when questioned by the press but Gus does indeed sound like a self centred vulture in that interview.
Fair points, if Zola has talked about it as much as Gus did I'd agree. I believe that this may have been a one off around the time Benitez was appointed? Have to say I don't ever recall Gus saying how much he loved the club and the fans though when answering the Chelsea and Leeds questions...
Good spot and I'll hold my hand up to never having seen that. Would it be churlish to suggest that I rather liked his reply?
He said when asked if he would welcome the chance to manage Chelsea: "There is no pressure in giving you an answer.
"Obviously I am a legend over there. I'm aware that...
