    [Albion] Valentín Barco **Signed 20/01/24**

He's given an interview talking about the move to Brighton. He's not yet spoken to RDZ, but has spoken to Facu. He's said he's ready to play wherever the manager needs him to. That's a long way of saying 'yes, it is happening'!

Agreed. I reckon an announcement today. Helps to nicely fill the weekend off with some news to keep everyone happy.

Thanks, that was the journalist I mentioned above but then inevitably couldn't find the tweet!

A prominent Argentine journalist posting a warning message the other day to say the Twitter account was fake. That was prompted by a goodbye message being sent from said Twitter account. The numbers don't add up too. c10k followers on this Twitter account versus millions on Instagram. Either...

I think the Twitter account is a fake. I believe he's got an official Instagram account with millions of followers though, but not sure how he refers to himself on that profile.

We do not. We have loads in the homegrown category. Steele, Webster, Welbeck, Milner, Lamptey, Gilmour and Joao Pedro all fit the bill for the four places required.

It is a tough call, which as you say resides on the expectations of whether Lamptey will be available or not. If he is, I'd probably favour keeping him in ahead of Lallana, but appreciate what you say about his Marseille involvement.

Given how little football he played in the EL Group Stages, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lallana drop out.

I don't think we have anyone to replace March in that category, so he might need to stay in! Feel free to correct me though!

Correct. 1 space remaining. Moder and Enciso need to be added if we want them to be involved. Dahoud and Lallana out I reckon.

I'm not sure if he still is now, but when this year's game was first released he was the most bought player of anyone in the world.

    Confirmed as a fake account.

I guess we've potentially offered an amount close to the release clause (+ sell on) but to be paid in a few chunks, whereas the release clause HAS to be paid in one chunk. I suppose even at our level, spreading the cost of transfer payments will still be very handy for cashflow purposes.

It is possible to both be delighted that we appear to be signing Barco and also think that Romano is a parasitic bellend who deserves no attention.

Suspect personal term discussions happened a long time ago. Or certainly it would have been established whether the lad was interested in coming to us or not. Let's hope this is all more Alexis Mac Allister than Darwin Nunez.

And the fall back can be then to just bid the release clause amount over the weekend before it seemingly increases next week?

I took this to mean that our first bid was slightly under the release clause?

I believe 777, who are working on a takeover of Everton, own several others European clubs as well as one in South America. I think with the third party player ownership issues that are still prevalent in South America, it is probably a bit more complicated to do the multi-club thing there. I’m...
