Nervous times for Jays fans. They threw away a lead against the Orioles on Wednesday going into the 9th, then lost again yesterday to level things up in the wildcard race. I don't fancy our chances in Boston either.

Detroit have a game in hand after a storm called off their game yesterday. They need to get themselves a roof.

Wild Card Teams W L PCT WCGB

Baltimore 87 72 .547 -
Toronto 87 72 .547 -
Detroit 85 73 .538 1.5
Seattle 85 74 .535 2.0

Similar story in the National League

Wild Card Teams W L PCT WCGB
NY Mets 85 74 .535 -
San Fran 84 75 .528 -
St Louis 83 76 .522 1.0

EDIT: Why do spaces get removed from posts?! Ruined the layout!

It's too much, isn't it? The rotation has been phenomenal lately, I just don't understand what happened to the hitting. Time to perform!

Ergh so the mets clinch one wild card spot, the Cards have come back to win so it's over to the Giants!

It is all down to the last game of the season - the 162nd game

We need the New York Giants , err sorry San Francisco, to lose and the good guys to win, for a winner takes all play off game between the two sides for the honour of facing the Mets in the WC game on Wednesday

Can you even begin to imagine the ticket issues in NY, STL and SF right now

Sunday night TV dilemma

Cardinals last gasp at creeping in to the WC or The Ryder Cup Singles

Sadly I have the feeling it ain't going to end well for the good guys in either case

Big wildcard game at the Rogers Centre tonight, the Blue Jays facing the Cardinals. I am ridiculously excited and will be getting up in the early hours to watch it. Been getting in the mood with re-runs from last seasons game for the ages against the Rangers:

Blue Jays v Orioles! :) am recording it and watching it tomorrow morning, think Jays will edge although starting stroman is bit of a risk against the Orioles big hitters!

Nothing will ever beat THAT 7th inning against the rangers last year.... or that bat flip... goosebumps moment

Living in Dallas I can tell you the bunfight has already started for tickets. I'm hoping for a match against the bluejays as after the incident in may the atmosphere will be electric. Cannot wait. It's going to be epic. Sadly i fear with Yu Darvish feeling his way back still from injury the pitching and the bullpen is a little light. But we shall see

Pleased to see that both the home games are day games, making them watchable from this side of the pond. Imagine the bunfight on here if a playoff game was scheduled for 12 noon on a Friday at 4 days notice!! Rangers can go into the playoffs with Hamels and Darvish lined up for the 2 home games, knowing they won't face their oppo's best pitcher until game 3 at least.

PG - massive pressure on hamels. Darvish has been really slow starting since returning from injury. The A's game a couple of weeks back when we got smashed 11-2 was another example of giving sides a fast start.

But - Hamels is quality - I fear though that there may not be enough to take the Rangers that far. You're righ - imagine a play off game at noon and the opposition potentially having to make a five hour plane journey!!!!!

I'm nervous already. I can't see it being anything other than a close game with 1 or 2 runs in it going into the 9th.

This is what it's all about! Rogers Centre will be insane later on. Little bit surprised Gibbons went with Stroman over Liriano (the O's don't hit lefties), but with Liriano AND Estrada in the 'pen I'm feeling hopeful!

Meeting the Rangers in the ALDS would be very nice.

Just a horrible season for the Minnesota Twins, the worst in their history since they moved to Minneapolis from Washington in '61.

A highly respectable 200 home runs though, with a swashbuckling 42 from Brian Dozier, and a total of 11 different players hitting 10+ homers for the season (no other team in MLB had as many as that). So its not difficult to see why they ended up rock bottom of the ALC on a shocking 59-103 with a .364 record - the MNTwins pitching absolutely STINKS.

Still loved seeing them live though, 3 times. What a treat that was.

Ditto in a way, phillies stank, although that was sorta expected although we have some great prospects coming through and a lot of positives going forward. But seeing them live and winning in Arizona (twice!) San Fran and at home was amazing! Hoping to see them at the new braves stadium and Miami next year!

Being a Yankees fan i desperately want the Blue Jays to beat the Orioles purely so we can see another series between the Rangers and Blue Jays. Their rivalry seems to grow every time they play each other. It was one of the best series last year with THAT inning and the Jose Bautista's bat flip. This year we've had Odor and Bautista. What a series it would be. Im not a fan of the Blue Jays but oh man can they make some noise in the Rogers center, against the Rangers that noise would increase tenfold.
