Never heard of him.. any info on him?

Never heard of the Dylan kid until someone mentioned him on here earlier today. Asmundsson is a regular in our development squad. I found out they were in the squads on Soccarways. That means we have 2 players in the Toulon tournament and three playing for the U19s Elite competition. Something to be proud of I think.

Dylan Barnett is a left-back, previously with St Joseph's Boys. He made his debut for the Ireland U-17s in February 2013. He joined Albion on scholarship terms last summer.

If you want to see him in action, he played for Albion's youth team against Everton at Goodison Park in the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup last December (he is number 3) -

I get Ings as he might be a late developer who maybe has something but obviously not going to be risked for the full team. But given that we're almost guaranteed to qualify, why not give those who are 17/18/19 a go? Unless we have an amazing full team, don't like seeing players of 20,21,22 etc in the U21s. Especially those who are nowhere near the full team.

So what is the U-19's team for if you play mostly 17/18/19 year olds in the U-21's? ???

For alot of 17-19 years olds. I just think that the very best should be in the U21s, I don't think it's the place for average 20 year olds....

I understand your stance on this, but fundamentally disagree.

We should be doing what the Germans and Spanish have been doing for years, and actually try to WIN these tournaments, but putting out our best possible sides (even if that means playing players who are only just within the age group boundaries). Let these kids grow up with decent tournament experience, learning how to actually win the things.

Certainly agree with that point
