They are not linked in economic terms I was making two points, however I think there is a link that can be made on the economic outcome for some countries that are in the EU now and more fundamentally the trust the wider european electorate can place in the EU institutions to make the right decisions.

There are evidently benefits to free trade I understand that, however we have had the common market for many years now and yet currently workers wages across the EU are falling at alarming rates, (with the exception of Germany). So there is no apparent drip down to the workers of these benefits of the common market, yet global business demands that the EU integrates more deeply so that workers jobs are protected. The fact that some countries are now having to devalue their economies by cutting wages and jobs is symptomatic of this demand..............there may not be manyeconomic alternatives to Govts in the eurozone but they made the decision to join, but in the end its the workers losing out, not global business.

The EU (through its institutions) are presiding over chaos in economies casued by their own failings, and they have been involved in subversion of democracy in Cyprus, Italy and Greece. You may think that its still worth going "all in" because there maybe benefits for the UK somewhere in the future...............based on the formline so far I cannot see it.

Sorry it has taken me a while to answer this, basically I am getting a little confused by your arguments.

Workers wages are falling across the EU with the exception of Germany - accepted, although this does not reflect the long term trend. This includes the UK, which has no part of the single currency, so whilst this is a contributory factor and I would not suggest that the UK should consider joining right now. there are clearly other factors at play here.

Non-skilled manual jobs, are on a relentless race to the bottom. Firstly there is a global labour market, whether you agree with it or not. Incidentally China is now losing jobs to Mexico, because labour costs in Mexico have fallen below those in China. Mexico has a massive young population and people are willing to take on multiple jobs, to try and improve their financial standing. Protectionism and isolation however can not bring these jobs back. Ultimately the vast proportion of these tasks can be mechanised. Sweatshop labour may be cheaper than capital investment in machinery for now, but when you compare the cost of capital versus UK labour rates, I believe the net result will be a huge increase in costs, along with a small increase in employment. The gap is filled by increased mechanisation.

Another one for the sheeple that vote for the 3 main parties.
5vuk4y.jpg

Don't be silly the three main parties wouldn't get involved in things like this. Remember it is only UKIP who do all the bad things.

These threads are funny...as its the same stuff everytime some UKIP nitwit makes a **** of himself, and his party....and over the last few years.
Its been pretty fecking regular.
How many times now?.....but hey, its rare, and its just the nasty left wingers picking on them.

As a protest vote party...fair enough, but some people actually believe...even on here...that these worthless ***** should be in power.

I keep seeing they are 'taking votes from the Tories'......Ever noticed the drop in BNP votes at all? Wonder who their old voters vote for now... lol

It's always disappointing when someone does a cut and paste job of an out of context cliche. I imagine you think it's a clever bon mot as you bask in the reflected glory of someone else's comedy routine.

Sorry but this one is particularly stupid. This is why: Consider why the immigrants are getting the jobs. Perhaps the employers that are giving the jobs to immigrants over British people prefer that because the immigrants are easier to exploit because they

a) don't have the language skills
b) the contacts.
The bit about money doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

These are important points to consider. It's no coincidence that the overwhelming majority of zero hour contracts are for minimum wage jobs done by immigrants. I see these as a form of bonded slavery and are a particularly sinister development in the job market. These immigrants are exploited because there is no union representation, no collective bargaining, no idea of their statutory rights and no position to complain because of the precarious nature of their employment and immigrant status.

But hey, at least they're working and tough shit to the indigenous population who are too thick (your words - or rather George Carlin's words, you're just riding his coat-tails) to hold down these jobs for themselves.

Sod the fact that they are not getting the jobs because immigrants are easier to exploit, sod the fact that society is generally healthier when we don't leave those at the bottom of the pile to rot. Sod the fact that you hold a whole underclass with such contempt that you write them off as too thick without considering other factors such as poverty, opportunity, where and how they were educated. Sod the fact that the problem is exacerbated by the fact that the immigrants are forced to live in poor urban areas and thus directly competing with the indigenous underclass that you're having a good sneer at. Can you imagine the damage this does to social cohesion, race relations? Of course you can't or you wouldn't have posted that picture.

You pretend to be a left-wing social inclusivist but quite clearly you either lack the brains to claim that title or you are an arrogant piece of shit and a fraud.

Well said Buzzer. Exactly this.

Funny he's posted "it isn't the 50s anymore" with some wanky "comedy" picture that highlights such dated thinking that in itself belongs in the mid 90s.
