I'll let Barcelona keep Messi if we can have Alves and Iniesta instead - deal?

Chelsea have no players on the goal-line from corners.

The way Barcelona play (they have two holders/in theory in Busquets and Mascherano) but if they can play Messi and Sanchez, I am sure we could play Vicente and Assulin together (next season hopefully).

You game if you wish to play is to find the equivalent Albion players (making allowances for lack of ability) to the Barca team:

01 Valdes
02 Alves
05 Puyol
21 Adriano Correia
04 Fabregas (striker)
06 Xavi (midfield)
08 Iniesta (midfield)
10 Messi (midfielder-striker)
14 Mascherano (holding midfield ?)
16 Busquets (holding midfield)
09 Sanchez (winger-striker)

Barca are playing four at the back, so they have a midfielder playing in their defence ??? They seem to be playing three at the back when they have the ball. They are not moving the ball very quickly. I think it must be Busquets who drops back as the extra defender ???

Chelsea have two banks of four 4-4-2.

For the record, I think Barca are good because they have good players, not because of their style of playing. I think Bayern will beat them in the final. Chelsea still looks good for 1-1.

So you think we're boring?

Are you suggesting we play anything like Barcelona?

To answer your question I care about Brighton not Barcelona so I deal with it but all the passing around the opponents box looking for a killer pass yes I find it boring. Different people different tastes, no?

I don't like kick and rush football either it it's not an either or situation.

Agreed spends more time on the floor these days feigning injury after injury or injustice

Goes down like he's stood on a mine then miraculously springs to his feet like a young gazelle, I just wonder how long Chelsea can keep defending like this.

Barcelona are missing David Villa. I think they would be level or winning with him in the team?

We played the same way in the late seventies. Up until Barry Lloyd threw it all down the khasi.

Disagree. Chelsea have executed their gameplan perfectly so far. May not be easy on the eye but its far from rubbish.

Two banks of four just like Reading, Southampton and West Ham. 4-4-2 can cause home draws.

On tonight's showing I prefer Vicente to Messi.

Firstly no, I wasn't suggesting we play like Barca. Your original comment was in response to a "Barcelona are a delight to watch, just like us" comment, to which you suggested was boring, hence my question.

Absolutely different people, different tastes. I wasn't suggesting otherwise.

Out of interest, what particular style that Brighton have played over the last 20 years or so have you enjoyed, or have you found it all boring?

If you let Barca play they will tear you apart, if you close them down, defend in numbers and hit them on the break you can beat them a bit like Stoke do and Chelsea are even doing the long throws and set pieces. When Stoke do it its anti football but when Chelsea do it its playing to their strengths!

Comparing Our playing style to Barca is dumb, its nothing like it, they play the ball backwards to pull the opposition out of position, we play it back because we are scared to lose the ball in midfield and there is not enough midfield movement to create the space to pass it in to. Thats why when Vincete plays we put everything through him instead.
