By it's very nature football divides people. The beauty of the game is it is very opinion based. Having a different political persuasion is the same as a difference over who is preferable at left back in my opinion. It hardly drives a huge wedge between the fans.

As for far right groups no obviously. I dont want neo-nazis at football and I dont want a load of commies to come and do a Tiananmen Square in our 18 yard box either. I think it is pretty obvious what I'm referring to when I use the word politics in this context. Politics yes, spilling over into extremism and illegality no.

So you want to dictate what politics can be discussed at football matches? I am sorry but I think you are being nieve. Politics should be kept out of football. Its ok on here though:D

No Surrender a fascist song:shrug:

I was there. A handfull sung that song. The majority did not join in. So why did TSLR have to make the point. Oh and as you know I would be regarded as Far right. Not that I see myself as that. So if you see my Seagulls over Coventry shirt at a game. Come over and tell me not to support the Albion:thumbsup:

ah, it was you, you were about 3 rows in front of me

That once fans start becoming political. As in having links whether left or right. It will can only be a bad thing.

Ok we discuss politics on here amongst other things but its kept on here.

Did we not get political during the last few seasons at the Goldstone?

a 30 second chant by a small group (who have followed the Albion for years, incl Goldstone and G'ham years) and the lefties go into panic pc mode. I don't know this group but i see them at most matches and let's face it they're not the "we're the left side, we're the right side happy clappy bobble hatted" type of fans. If you don't like what they do or sing just move away. I expect the pc brigade that are moaning are the ones that argue for standing areas at grounds "so we can move if we don't like the people around us" - unallocated seating at HTFC permitted this, but what happened, people stayed put and started to squabble.

I really dont see it as either a bad or a big deal to be honest. Football and politics, pop and politics, whatever.

Brighton factually.....
you're right.

my original post came out all wrong!

i was just upset yesterday because a lot of friends had their day messed up because of some aggressive people and intimidating behaviour - i know it's football and to an extent that's part and parcel of being a fan, but we shouldn't have that sort of bad stuff at games, everyone would agree right? i think this was articulated better in another post.

it's got nothing to do with politics, i shouldn't have mentioned all that. back tracking now.

I bet it came out wrong......!
I belive you, did not mean to put the you wanted a left of centre association.........!
As i see No rejection of any kind that this is your wish........!
And i suspect you may hold a student pass of some kind......:glare:
Anyway left or right..................Feck off.........i follow the Albion

In London village.
Did you go to gigs in the 70's. Lots of trouble over politics then. Do you want that at football grounds

I remember fascists trying to smash up various gigs in the 70's. They got an answer as would anyone who wants to import that shit into our club now.
