Mayo's lofted balls down the line/into touch have been winding me up for 10 years. Had an OK game today but surely not worthy of a new contract?

Seeing as we haven't even got a LB at the moment it's unlikely that we're gonna sign two. In an ideal world I'd prefer two new LBs but I'd definitely settle for Kerry being backup to a new one if we are just gonna get one. Lynch is no LB and although Livermore can apparently play there I gather his best position is midfield. Would you rather go into the season with just one recognised LB at the club assuming we do sign one just to get rid of Kerry?

Yeah his aimless hoofs and lack of pace do piss me off but he can tackle and never hides however badly he or the team might be playing which is a plus imo.

Glad to see Kerry playing. Brilliant servant to the club who can still do a job as he proved beyond doubt last season.

He must have proved it to just you then.

the problem with mayo is that he's in a position where most of the time he'll be against players with pace, which he'll always stuggle against

If Adams thinks that Mayo is a good enough first choice left back for us for the coming season he's very seriously mistaken. We need to sign up Richards as soon as possible even if it costs us some money in transfer fees, which we don't seem to be willing to find at the moment.

Mayo played pretty well. Dixon was shite. Gatting was shite. And the music was indeed.. shite.

One thing though.. did anyone who went today notice how much better the version of GOSBTS was than ours? completely different rendition but much better imo..

what you think??

On today's performance, I can't believe we really paid £75,000 for him. He looked so lightweight and ineffective it was laughable.

why on earth would we need two players who solely play at left back? a new LB is needed, sure. hopefully mayo gets f***ed off but knight will probably make sure he is given a new deal. if we got a proper LB, there is absolutely no need to get another one. we have lynch and livermore to cover.

or by your logic do we need to sign a right back as well? christ.

Ipswich have told Richards he can go for FREE. That's a FACT. .

If that is a real FACT and not an NSC FACT then I will also be amazed if we are not trying to sign him, unless of course Adams has a player in his sights who he considers better?

The time to rant about the LB position is a week before the 1st game if we haven't signed one, no???

In the meantime we'll have to sweat it out. We'll probably know about whether Kerry is staying or going before we sign a LB

It's probably our Kerry.

El Abd is a perfectly good back up RB, Lynch is a liabilty at LB and you are assuming Livermore is a decent back up, have you seen him play there?

I'd trust MA's judgement over the hysteria on here about Mayo. I'm not a big fan of his but he is not the shite player you and some others on here are suggesting.

.

And the time to rant about it is very much now, because Adams seems to be on the verge of a mistake which will cost us our season.

You know that we aren't going to bother about signing another LB if Kerry is signed do you?? How? As you seem to be suggesting if Mayo signs he will be 1st choice
