Aw, I have some fond memories of Ali J.

He always had the expectation of a then club-record fee around his neck, and wasn't quite cut out for Premier League football.

He wasn't WOEFUL though. Always put in a 100% and scored one of the great Albion goals.

Nice bloke too, with perfectly groomed hair.

I am reliably informed that he was a lovely chap in his local shops.

I’m sure I’m going to get flamed for this, but by the end of the summer, quite possibly Eiran Cashin.

My money is Cashin following the same path as Matt Clarke - will go out on several loans and will eventually get sold for a small profit never to play for us again

Value wise, surely Locadia. He never once looked up to standard and cost a fair old whack. Just look at his career before and after us and it seems like a glitch I'm the algorithm.

I always discount Jahanbakhsh from these "worst signings" conversations because he was signed for the wrong manager. I love Hughton, but taking an exciting, dynamic, attacking right winger and turning him into a depressed defensive left wing back in our 4-5--------------------------1 formation totally ruined his confidence. Despite that he always got his head down, worked hard and tried his best.

In the "pre-big" money days? I'd probably go with Craig "Barn door" Davies. Bless him, cost a bit but one of the more profligate strikers.

Worst loan? Tough one between Leon Best and Chuba Akpom. I'll go Akpom. How he managed to cobble together a decent career from that player we had here, I'll never know

Nzozi Toko is a good call. I was so excited when we signed him. But, then again, around that time we also brought the likes of Leon Best and Kemi Agustein into the club.

More recently so was Dahoud.

Glenn Thomas was a nasty piece of work, as well as a shit footballer who I had the displeasure of seeing play.
I wouldn't be inclined to conflate them.

Dahoud is a good shout. He was reportedly one of our highest earners and probably got a very decent signing on fee.

Alireza was a very good footballer. He didn't fit and looked like he had some shit going on.

Still makes the list for me, based on fee and level of expectation etc. Neither were his fault, he did seem a nice guy and a trier, who gave us a couple of good moments, but he was nowhere near good enough.
