Locadia & Jahanbakhsh.

Aw, I have some fond memories of Ali J.

He always had the expectation of a then club-record fee around his neck, and wasn't quite cut out for Premier League football.

He wasn't WOEFUL though. Always put in a 100% and scored one of the great Albion goals.

Nice bloke too, with perfectly groomed hair.

Liam Dickinson was quite a big signing at the time - in fact he cost around the same as Glenn Murray in a similar era. To say the two didn’t compare in terms of ability on the pitch is an understatement.

Relatively speaking, Federico Turienzo for £150k when we were an absolutely skint League One team takes some beating.
We were in the championship when we signed him

There's a difference between a bad player and a bad signing. A lot of crap players don't cost much but someone like Jahanbaksh who wasn't THAT bad was a poorer signing than some others on this thread due to his cost and weight of expectation

On the other side you've got players that we spent money on when we had very little. The aforementioned Federico Turienzo being an example. I imagine Paul Kitson was early a relatively decent wage for us and wasn't bad when we actually managed to get him on the pitch and another experienced freebie- Jason Dodd having similar issues

Then you have someone like Ansu Fati...an expensive loan who came with a large amount of hype

Tough one to come up with 1 answer really
