Percy Tau.

Aside from the fact that he was bang average and physically incapable of competing in the EPL, it meant we had an influx of rabid, one-eyed Percy fans who were massively painful on socials and here.

Him leaving to go to an Egyptian club induced the same levels of relief in me as having a verucca cut out.

Nzozi Toko is a good call. I was so excited when we signed him. But, then again, around that time we also brought the likes of Leon Best and Kemi Agustein into the club.

In terms of attitude and commitment Mickey Thomas has to come near the top, because he seemed a decent player at Man Utd and Everton.

But in terms of sheer unadulterated incompetence and utter shiteness, Ashley Neal. He now is a driving instructor in the town where I live and whenever I see his car driving around I give him a wide berth as I wonder if his level of football ability pervades other areas of his life..........

Colin Hawkins was a bit of scapegoat for the car crash of Adams mk2 but he was pretty poor.

Christ that was a depressing season, I remember feeling Wilkins was treated very badly but then really believed we could push for promotion again under Adams. Thank God for Slade, Hart and Owusu, we probably wouldn't be where we are today without their efforts in the great escape.

Leon Best for me. Takes some hard work to get booed off by your own fans, but he was absolutely awful. Thank god he was a loanee.
58 goals in his career is laughable

I’m sure I’m going to get flamed for this, but by the end of the summer, quite possibly Eiran Cashin.

Other than that Nzuzi Toko or Graeme Smith for me.

Was a talented player, but by the time he got to us he'd given up.
Never seen a player put so little effort in. And Kemy was around then too.

Les Briley.
Millwall legend, but absolutely phoned it in for us. I was actually quite happy when we signed him as we really needed a "hard man" in midfield. He just couldn't be arsed though, or maybe his legs had gone. We'd have been better off with Les Dennis.

You can’t include Percy Tau because he didn’t really exist. Nobody ever clapped eyes on him due to paperwork problems preventing permits. Faced with this, legend has it he crept country by country up the continent of Africa disguised as a lion and entered Europe (allegedly) via the straits of Messina. Again though, no witnesses. All rumour. Eventually the word was he was he made it to Brussels and linked up with Unionise before passage south was arranged to nord-pas-de-Calais region. The last alleged sighting anyone had was from the dunes just outside Boulogne where he and others tried to board an inflatable seagull. It is not known if they crossed the channel though. Certainly he never made it to Shoreham. Moreover, others reported he was still in Capetown at exactly the same time. We’ll never know. And that - so the tale goes - is the story about this alleged signing. Much fanfare at the time, but no one actually ever saw him never mind play in the stripes. For my money though he is the best rumoured signing we ever had. And I saw Kanchelskis having dinner with Owen at the Grand too…
