I really hate players being slagged off & I honestly stand to be proved wrong but IMO he has looked terrible, Granted, he has been injured, but he has been deemed fit enough to replace one of our best players.
I don't think I am part of the me me me Thatcher generation & call me old fashioned but I prefer my strikers to look like they may actually be able to play.

I think that sums up the stupidity of some people here.
A paralytic ape could have scored 90% of Van Nistelroys goals as well. He is arguably the best player inside the penalty box.
It is not about the finish, it is about the ability to get into the positions to score the easy chance, the movement before.
I very much doubt anyone here would score his goals as you would not be in the right place at the right time. That is the skill, not the finishing.
He looks like he may possess a skill no other player at the club has.

Correct

Why does everyone keep saying he's only had a few substitute appearances?
He started against Brentford and did absolutely nothing, perhaps thats why everyone has forgotten about it.
He does look a bit shit so far but if he scores goals i'll be happy!

He looked great on Saturday, just a little over eager. f*** me, we shouldn't even be questioning someone who a) clearly knows how to put the ball in the net, b) makes things happen (He completely changed the game IMHO) and c) shows as much fight and will to get involved. Let's give the kid a chance. Don't forget that Murray and Barnes contributed NOTHING.

Spot on. No doubt the people that slate Sandaza already are the ones who always had a go at Chris Iwelumo for his ungainly style .... and he didn't do too bad for himself.

He maybe better suited to poaching goals from on the ground passess and scrambles in the box, in the air he is crap, just hangs his head out and hopes.
He should practice having crosses flosted across the goalmouth and trying to direct the ball down with his head then he would be more effective.
Wonder how many goals he has scored with his head in his career? wouldn't thought it would be many.

Hmmm. You're doing a great disservice to Van Nistlerooy. He was an excellent finisher who did score his fair share of 'sitters' but also scored a decent number of top strikes. If 'a
paralytic ape' could score 90% off Van Nistlerooy's chances it seems to me that you're actually damning Sandaza rather than defending him!

I agree that getting yourself into the goalscoring positions is a vital skill. I don't think Sandaza is the only one to possess it, though. Our top scorer gets knocked by a voluble minority for not taking enough of his chances. If Barnes is getting a number of good chances in every game, surely he also possesses the same ability to get into goalscoring positions?

It's difficult for me to judge players perfectly accurately when I only have seagulls world commentary and video highlights to go on so I may be missing something obvious to those that go to games regularly. From what I can establish however, when Barnes gets a chance he forces the keeper into making a save. Sandaza, on Saturday at least, misses the target more often than not. He's been injured, perhaps isn't fully fit yet and needs a run of games. His eagerness and willingness to get involved on Saturday are positive traits, his poor finishing not so. As it stands it's difficult to make any kind of judgement of him. Personally, I wouldn't start him over either Barnes or Murray at the moment. Hopefully he will develop into a quality penalty box poacher, but it's impossible to say right now.

OK, I'll say it.

It is because a proportion of our fanbase are of the me, me, me Thatcher era and they want instant success. Happy now?

Generation Y, why indeed, why do they feel the world owes them a living and why can't they work for what they want or stop whyning (sic) about everything that does go their way immediately. Frankly I'm surprised so many have stuck with one team for so long. And don't get me started on those stupid, droopy, pants revealing jeans....

Old geezer rant over.

Can I have asn opinion too , please?

Look he's obviously not fit and that is a problem in itself but he gets into good positions, has scored and is obviously very passionate about playing. Think he was the most passionate player out there last Saturday. Suggests to me something like Horst Hrubesch... not much technique but will get goals, certainly in this division and if he can get himself fit that might be exactly what we need.
