Because as per usual some on here judge players far far too quickly. Listen to what Poyet says about him and give him a bit more time to actually get fit and he will clearly be an asset to us

I think it's mainly because apart from when unmarked four yards out twice everything else he has done on the pitch has been almost comically bad.

But of course he hasn't played much, he needs to get fit etc etc. I think most people aren't writing him off completely, just basing their thoughts off what he's done so far.

That really isn't true, Bob. Home to Brentford, he was a constant thorn in their side, as he ran for (and sometimes won) some lost causes, although his passing on that day was shocking.

In a pile of football shirts
2 goals in a few sub appearances when only just back from injury...yes utter turd. :wozza:

I didn't say utter turd, I clearly said 80% turd, which is just about right having seen him in all his appearances so far. He has fluffed, fallen over, ballooned over, headed over, headed wide, shot wide, miss-kicked and on 2 occasions he has 'scored' a goal, so that's about 20% good, 80% bad.

Exactly. He has played minimal time and created loads of chances. Won a penalty. Scored two.
When he is fully fit that will hopefully increase.

I have only listened to the sensible bold comments.

You only get one chance to make a first impression, he had his first chance at Plymouth, and it was not a good impression, at all. I am all for him coming good, I reckon he might have something special, but if he carries on missing so many sitters, in situations where he is suppoesed to excel, it won't just be the fans who become impaitent. This thread asked the question 'Why does everybody have such a **** opinion on Sandaza??' I didn't realise everyone did have a '****' opinion of him, and it would seem that most comments on here support that, and if you read what I have said, I want to see him do well, but so far, in his limited appearances, he has not done what he is supposed to be excellent at, although he has proved that he is no good at what he is supposed to be no good at.

Everybody doesn't. Some people do. I don't. Typical over-generalisation that ends up creeping into the NSC lexicon as a fact. Not helpful.

I think he's one of those deceptive players, who looks quite clumsy on the ball, but actually knows what he's doing (just about). Didn't impress me a great deal in either of his two previous home appearances, but on Saturday he showed enough for me to realise what he could offer (and why Dundee Utd fans raved about his debut season for them). Seems quite direct, and managed to get on the end of things quite regularly, even if his finishing was (understandably) below par.

In time, he'll become good, he's got enough about him to suggest he'd be a decent player when fully fit.

He looked great on Saturday, just a little over eager. f*** me, we shouldn't even be questioning someone who a) clearly knows how to put the ball in the net, b) makes things happen (He completely changed the game IMHO) and c) shows as much fight and will to get involved. Let's give the kid a chance. Don't forget that Murray and Barnes contributed NOTHING.

Simple, he's not Peter Ward/Johnny Byrne/Bobby Zamora so he must be crap. Why it is that so many people expect a player to produce instant results is beyond me, had he cost a six figure fee then maybe but he cost us nothing. I think that he could do well as long as the 'know it all experts' don't get to him.

Some Sandaza Stats:

Starts: 1
Sub appearances: 4
Total match time: 168min (ave 33.6min per appearance)
Goals: 2
Shots: 9
Shots per appearance: 1.8
He is the only one of our strikers to score in a cup game (excluding penalty shoot outs)
Both his goals have been scored when paired with Ashley Barnes (Though, he replaced murray at plymouth, v oldham, was replaced by murray v brentford, and replaced Murray v FC United, so has only played alongside Murray for 13 minutes v Tranmere.)

You may not be able to call him shit yet but you can't call him any good either. People are pointing to his 2 goals.Well...They weren't exactly pieces of sublime skill or inspirational magic were they? Every single man, woman and child on this board could have scored them. Maybe we could 'do a job' too...

At a time when we seem to be struggling to put the ball in the goal, should we be picky about how stylishly it happens if we get someone who can even just stumble it in so frequently, so far.

Frustrating that it's Murray he's been being swapped with (as with Woods).

I want to see Murray AND Sandaza together, and Murray AND Woods (they have looked very good together the two times they have been paired).

I think he has something to give in the future when he overcomes his hernia op. Did anyone else who was watching the ITV extended highlights notice the commentators saying "here comes the big name sub" when he got brought on for murray??

I think the sandman is going to be a very usefull player for us. Can't say he's going to be the most elegant or the most flair but he'll score us a few.

Seems good to me. Who doesn't love a player who puts in 100% effort, and ultimately scores important goals. In every match he has played for us we have not lost! :p Well, we have only lost 4 games this season, but the point still stands

I think that sums up the stupidity of some people here.
A paralytic ape could have scored 90% of Van Nistelroys goals as well. He is arguably the best player inside the penalty box.
It is not about the finish, it is about the ability to get into the positions to score the easy chance, the movement before.
I very much doubt anyone here would score his goals as you would not be in the right place at the right time. That is the skill, not the finishing.
He looks like he may possess a skill no other player at the club has.

Words fail me.
