I would say some of those signings were down to Poyet rather than Burke. We were definitely tracking Ulloa before Burke arrived.

Yes, and I suspect Burke's moneyball spreadsheet didn't feature an entry for Spanish Dave either.

Also, Tex was surely signed because of Sami's Liverpool connection.

Ryan Harley?

Nope. Signed four months before Burke's arrival.

Spanish Dave signed over nine months after Burke's arrival.

'Surely signed...'? 'Suspect...'?

This is my point - arbitrarily picking a manager over Burke for a given signing. At the end of the day, he was the administrator who closed the deal. Did he find the given players personally? Who cares - he was the head of the team who did the searches.

The definitive list of crap/didn't work out/pointless David Burke signings:

Nzuzi Toko
Adam Chicksen
Kemy Agustien
Stephen Dobbie
Gary Gardner
Billy Paynter
Leroy Lita
Vitalijs Maksimenko
David Rodriguez
Adrian Colunga
Jon Obika
Aaron Hughes
Chris O'Grady
Leon Best
Paddy McCourt
Danny Holla
Jeffrey Monakana

Bit harsh on Aaron Hughes. He wasn't spectacular but he was solid enough as a reserve for dunk and Greer. The rest though.....

Hardly. We were out of keepers at that point.

Ankergren and Walton couldn't have filled in ? What are they here for then.

And as mentioned, he wasn't even frickin' AVAILABLE for most of his loan spell anyway. Said it at the time. Mental signing.

So signed someone for a month who was ineligible against his parent club and on international duty for a fortnight. A total **** up

Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

He was allowed to go on international duty because he wasn't required any more.

Its late. I've been pubbing

end of it all, we had cover. Bringing in another keeper was unnecessary, especially one who couldn't play more than that game at the muff. That must have been desperately deflating for Walton at the time.
