Whatever, I have always been a big fan of Murray on the pitch from the moment he arrived here. I never slagged him off, as many did, for his laconic (lazy) style of play and was genuinely gutted when he went to Palace. Doubly so when his goals got them into the playoffs. Never thought of him as a Judas as it was a Poyet gaffe that led to him leaving and I was thrilled when he came back. Doesn’t change my OPINION of where his heart lies though
You were doing so well up to there.
I was ready to make you a cup of tea.

Solly "scorer of the goal that took us to the Premier League" March, is not a club legend???

tough crowd.
As I highlighted earlier, I’m not one for individual goals making the player a legend. If I was I’d include Gross for the first EPL goal and the goal which kept us up in our first season.

I went with quite a few because I read it as a player who will go down in the folklore of the club, not necessarily one for the greatest ever stating eleven.

Dunk and March for their local lad connections. Hinsh will become one for the same reason.

Mitoma is our greatest ever left winger without a doubt, and has elevated our profile across Asia.

I think people will talk positively about Tariq for years to come, and make comparisons with other full backs on pace, despite his injury woes.

Welbeck has scored too many goals to not be a legend.

Veltman - everyone loves a shithouse.

I thought it was controversial to leave out Pedro, simply for the two Marseille games.

Shoot me but I get the distinct impression that GM is more Palace than Brighton inclined as to his favourite club of the two
Murray only left because Poyet wasn’t prepared to pay him 12 grand a week but in the next breath paid CMS £15,000 a week.

Two things for me, both involving M23 Derby’s.

The first in Sept 2011 when he didn’t celebrate his goal out of respect for the supporters ⚽

And secondly in Feb 2020, with Potter taking us headlong into relegation, arguably thwarted by COVID, we lost 1-0 to Palace at the Amex and I took my mate, Darren, who was terminally ill, Glenn came and had a drink with us afterwards, and poignantly said to both of us, obviously referring to Darren’s situation, “Some things are more important than football” ❤️

The man oozes class

On the playing side

Dunk
Wardy and Mellor
Nobby Horton
Steve Foster
Stuart Storer
Robbie Reinelt
Lawrenson
Zamora
I’ll also go with Gordon Smith because of the goal he did score - a highlight of my years supporting. The upper tier of Wembley bounced like the dance floor at Blackpool when that went in
Jimmy Case

and probably others but just one from the list posted for me.

I would have gone for Bruno…but!!
Pascal Gross has done as much if not more than anyone in that list.

Solly is the only recent player to be just referred to by his Christian name by the majority of supporters.

Yes, I know Igor is a Christian name, but Solly’s is from the fans not on his shirt etc.

I voted for Lewis Dunk only out of the current squad.

If we go back a little bit in time, and include players since our promotion to the Premier League, then I would include Pascal Gross and Glenn Murray, and that's all.

Kaoru Mitoma could attain "legend" status if he keeps up his performances and stays at the club for several more years, but he isn't there yet.

Solly March, similarly, if he can stay injury free and perform at a high level for the club for a long time might be able to achieve this status.

FFS you have let yourself down here, i expect to only hear M23 or A23 Derby mentioned by a Sky Sports commentator/ pundit,
tin pot betting company adverts on Twitter and fans of other clubs that haven’t got a clue ……not by someone that’s been supporting the Albion as long as your good self.

Mitoma feels like a no-brainer for the all-time legends list for me.

One of the best players to have ever played for the club, in the strongest ever history-making Albion side. He has ability, loyalty, humility and he has scored some of the greatest, if not THE greatest, Albion goals of all time.
And when it leaks he refused to sign a new deal before flouncing off to KSA this summer the revisionists will be out in force I am sure....

Hypothetically speaking you understand!

I think you have to have made some major contributions for at least 7 or 8 years to be a legend.

Dunk qualifies and quite a few have potential, but they need to stick around for a few more years and win us a trophy (or achieve something of similar magnitude).

Do that and we’ll be awash with legends.

I thought you didn’t approve of playing the man rather than the ball?

My evidence (opinion) is drawn from listening to him commentating on games…
He seems much more connected to the Albion than Palace. He'd definitely have a lot of affection for them understandably but does a lot more "ex player" stuff for us

Looking at that list I’d say
Dunk
Ward
Steve Foster
Zamora

As for Storer and Reinelt they both obviously scored important goals but I don’t feel this alone qualifies them as club legends.
Disagree. Their goals were that crucial to the club's continuing to be able to exist that they qualify by extension shirley. These two unremarkable journeyman players would otherwise be long forgotten to the mists of time. Instead they are known to every single Albion 'legacy fan' on planet Earth
