For me,

"Hector and the search for happiness"

Absolute ɓollocks.

I've left the cinema during films many times but I had to sit in on that because of Mrs P having got tickets for a gala event and there was a free buffet afterwards.

Awful film.
Gladiator II .. utter utter gash....as opposed to the first film which was a classic.

Breathless starring Richard Gere, Odeon Screen One, Worthing September 1983.

Without doubt the biggest pile of shit I’ve ever sat through, even worse than Albion vs Doncaster 1998 😂

Completely counter to this thread I went to see "A Matter Of Life And Death" at Duke of Yorks last year on a Sunday lunchtime.

I'd seen the film a few times before on TV. First time on a big screen.

The screening was pretty much sold out.

As the auditorium emptied everyone had sincere smiles on their faces. The audience had experienced a collective joy.

It's a magical thing being in an quiet reflective crowd who are having a lovely time.
It may have become apparent from previous posts I have made regarding this film that it is my favourite of all time. Would love to see it on a big screen.

Brilliant concept, superb script and wonderful cast. As the Yanks didn't want to contemplate death after WWII it was renamed Stairway to Heaven for them. :tosser:

Yet again can I recommend Powell and Pressburger (The Archers) for all those who appreciate classic films...

I hated Python when I was at school because Certain Sorts would come in the next day and re-enact all the catch phrases. Neil G, Pete G, Nick B, Chris K, you ruined my adolescence, you BASTARDS.

Calling @monty uk for verification. ???

And yes, Sid, anyone making any sound at all in the cinema, especially with their mouth, should have their goolies cut off.
My mum used to watch Monty Python simply because it was on immediately before or after Match of the Day.

At some point anyway, I gather they messed about with the time they showed it a lot.

Which was the only reason she had any idea what all the boys at school were going on about the next day. :lolol:

Fair to say she was much more into football at the time than Monty Python.

Yes, but these were the same people who liked Yes, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Stackridge and Renaissance (not necessarily in that order) and would often quote their lyrics.

Nuff said?

Jaws 2 ,I was kinda hoping Quint survived by singing his way out of Sharkey's arse as a plot twist to relieve the utter boredom and disappointment at the worst sequel to a superb original ever.
Yes terrible. Though Jaws 3 was the first 3d film I ever saw and the opening sequence where a harpoon gets shot straight between the entire audiences eyes remains the best use of the gimmick I have seen.
Jaws 4 where the shark is stalking the wife so she packs up the family and fly's to Hawaii to escape, and the shark is there when they arrive, enters so bad it's good territory.

I have seen all of Sound of Music, just never at the same time.

I have either fallen asleep and missed bits, had to go out, or come in at various points.

I didn’t realise until quite recently that when the Father and Maria got married, there was about another 20 minutes to go.
