Rohan Ince in against Swindon in the League cup. I was at the game and we just stood there for a second with our jaws on the floor, before celebrating.

The only highlight of the Sami Hyypia time as our manager (shudder)

Excellent shout. Remarkable goal.

This Maupay one was just as good.

Not even close. Maupay’s overhead goal wasn’t too shabby, and nicely timed in a game we looked destined to lose, but he was 7 yards out and sort of leaned into it and lobbed it into the corner.

CMS was running away from goal and jumped athletically into the air - doing the full scissor action - to strike the ball cleanly from 12 yards low and hard into the corner.

For sheer technique, Skalak's goal is the best Albion I've ever seen in the flesh. Some of Mitoma's are pretty incredible too though.

It was a remarkable HIT - probably only rivalled in recent years, by the Ince volley referred to earlier.

But the TECHNIQUE required to execute Mitoma's goal v Chelsea, Mitoma's run at Wolves, or the technical skills (and decision making) by multiple players to produce Izquierdo's goal at Stoke or Gros' goal at Old Trafford, far outstrip that one for me.

Ince's goal was really nice, I think I'd still have Skalak's some way ahead, personally. Perfectly timed, laser guided precision.

I also said it was the best goal I had seen in the flesh - i.e. I wasn't there for some of those.

My personal favourite is Dean Wilkins free kick v Ipswich at the Goldstone with about 60 seconds to go in a must win game.

The best goal I've seen since that was actually chalked off because someone was offside 45 yards away from the goalie was Alexis Mac Allister thunderbolt v Leicester at the Amex.

Honourable mention for Jimmy Cases free kick v Massive at Highbury.

Its a great hit.

However, perhaps the (disallowed) Mac Allister one -incidentally from almost the very same blade of Amex grass - is possibly an even BETTER hit!? It is hit even harder, and definitely better placed in the top corner. (1:50 here...)

Gordon Smith’s goal in the cup final lives with me forever. I was right near the back and as I saw him make contact my brain was processing at a million miles an hour.

“Bailey’s got this”

No, it went past him, so in the millisecond it took to cross the line, it seemed like an age.

“It’s going in, it’s going in!”

and he DID score, let’s not forget that.

The greatest goal I’ve ever witnessed. Well worth a fiver!

The Nelson goal at Brentford always annoys me when it gets raised on these threads. I went to both games at Brentford that season and I can't actually remember it! (I think he scored that one in the cup 2-1 win, not the 1-1 league game)

There's two against Palace that haven't had a mention yet, Ulloa's and Andone's
Ulloa's in the St. Patrick's Day Massacre was sublime. We toyed with them as they just watched us play beautiful football with an end product. Poyet's Albion, when not imploding, was absolutely revolutionary.
