I agree regarding the abuse Kerry received. It was not one of his better games and he is not one of the most talented players, but he has always shown commitment and how is abusing a player supposed to help improve his performance? I suggest that it is more likely to deflate him and make matters worse.
Maybe I'm too "nice" but I've never been able to come to terms with what people get out of abusing players other than as means of venting their own frustrations and inner anger!!!
Agreed - there is, quite simply, a not insubstantial amount of abuse towards our own players from a vocal but shit-stirring minority, full stop. There was a time - even at Withdean - when "supporters" were just that. Now they're acting like they're at home but there's nothing decent on telly and the wife's burnt their tea.
Not sure where this comes from - no manager is good enough in these people's eyes, whether at club or country level; no player either signed or unsigned is ever to be given the benefit of any doubt. It's easier - if you're very f***ing stupid - to say "he's shit" than "he's trying". What does this mindset achieve exactly? Twats.
