how soon after Vicente was released did he mention that he'd come back? I get the feeling he thought he'd get a few offers but nothing particularly thrilled him so he tried to back track. Whatever happened between him and Gus, who knows but its not the first time a player has fallen out with a boss because they weren't put on a pedestal, Eg Tevez refusing to come on the pitch. At the end of the day the manager has to be in charge, and if you show weakness then it will be exploited. Does Vicente have previous, i thought i read somewhere (probably on here so factual) that he had a go someone at Valencia when he left there

Vicente, on his day, was easily the best player I've ever seen in a Brighton shirt but when he was on the pitch I honestly don't think we played all that well as a team. The others (especially Buckley for some reasons) seemed to under perform when playing alongside him. Just my opinion though...

Vicente and Gus were obviously quite close last season so what happened ? Could it be (I have no SAUCE for this !) that Gus was told to activate the 2nd year on Vicente's contract and didn't want to do so (he has said many times that he wouldn't stand in a players way).

If he was then forced to keep Vicente for a 2nd year when he didn't want to, he may have decided that he wasn't going to play him as he didn't support the decision to extend him. It's either 1 breach down, 7 to go, or i should take up a career as a fiction writer.

Would Vicente to come back as player coach role, the young players would learn so much from him and he still has lots to offer both on and of the field

Vicente is class, no doubt.
Fitness was always the concern we were given for his non-selection.
If he truly was fit since December then we missed a trick.
From his appearances in the 2nd half of the season what was lacking more than anything was MATCH-fitness.
Get Oscar in, get Vicente back, and give him some minutes - a player of that class will bring up the performance-levels of all the other players around him.

He's been a pretty loyal player. Played for his home town club of Levante from 16yrs old to 19, then signed for Valencia and stayed there 11 seasons, playing under 4 different managers in that period. The only thing he said I think was in 2007 when he said he felt let down by the medical staff, that things had been said to the press about his psychological state of mind, for which he was disciplined, however he still stayed on another 4 seasons. He left Valencia as a club legend.

On the rare occasions that Vicente did play towards the end of last season he really wasn't very good, and what is more his presence on the field seemed to upset our normal pattern of play to the detrement of the team. The instructions appeared to be "give the ball to Vicente" on every possible occasion.

Unless we saw a very different Vicente, I personally would not want him back.

Or a different coach ???

It was the club that released Vicente, not Gus. He refused to handle the retained list. Why would the club offer him a contract now?

I'm fairly sure Poyet/the club made decisions before the play-offs - with two different scenarios, of course.

Poyet (and, supposedly, Tanno and Charlie too) merely refused to deliver the news.

fair enough, i know he has only had a few clubs. There seemed to be a lot of unwarranted bad feeling about him at the end of last season and i didn't know how much of was based on real stories but then NSC does love a hate figure. Wonder who will be next after Poyet or back to the old favourite Ashley?

The lift is raised around Vicente, which is free
He has decided to leave the Brighton and interest to granota, where he trained and left 850 million pesetas when it was transferred to Valencia.

The lift raises the return of Vicente Rodriguez Orriols for next season. The Benicalap. has ended its relationship with Brighton and taken for exhausted his experience in England after two years (he has chosen not to follow), the entity granota interests, which in recent years has been characterized by repatriating their idols. After the departure of Ballesteros, would be a good way to find a release. Vicente, who despite his years in the elite only has 31, formed in the Levant. There he led the rise of Levante Second A and left no less than 850 million pesetas to the entity granota by his move to Valencia. The option is already on the table granotas leaders, who study it carefully. We need to strengthen the midfield and left wing where it acts as Michel Vincent, Barkero and Juanlu leave the club.

Vicente, who accumulated nearly 50 caps, go excited about the possibility of returning home. He decided to leave Brighton.
