Bank of England expected to raise rates in May

The odds of the Bank of England raising interest rates again next month have jumped.

The money markets indicate there is a 97% chance that the BoE lifts Bank Rate by a quarter of one percentage point to 4.5% in May – up from an 82% chance yesterday.

The markest also imply there’s a good chance that rates will hit 5% by the autumn.
Easy to forget the old rule used to say Interest Rates, inflation plus 2%. Interested to see what the view is now on taking 5 year fixes on mortgages...

Local Tory candidate admitting he's not interested in the poor. You'd think they would realise a lot of houses have Ring doorbells or similar nowadays.

No 'but Corbyns' in PMQs.

One 'lefty lawyer' and a new one used a few times, 'Sir Softie'.One

In other news, rampant inflation isn't their fault, but if it comes down it's because the are brilliant.

The Tories are still trying to attack the 'softer sentences' which were implemented by the Sentencing Council. There were 14 members, whose job it is to implement the government policy on crime. David Cameron knighted Sir Keir Starmer for his work in the CJS.

Sunak has no policies, and cannot answer questions because he wants to play schoolboy games. Ner ner ne ner ner.

Michael Gove has been taking his smoking breaks in a special hut built for him on the roof of his departmental office, after he was stalked by a terrorist and heckled in the street.

The taxpayer-funded smoking den was built specifically for Gove shortly after he was appointed levelling up secretary in October 2021 and he was heckled by anti-lockdown protesters.

Rishi Sunak has caved in to demands from hard-right MPs to allow the UK to ignore rulings from the European court of human rights on small boat crossings, government sources have said.

Backbench rebels have been pushing the prime minister to harden the illegal migration bill so ministers to can ignore interim rulings. One of the Strasbourg court’s rule 39 injunctions blocked the government’s first attempt to deport asylum-seekers to Rwanda last year.

If “shouting at Michael Gove” is the new bar for terrorism then Guantanamo’s going to start filling up again

Industrial scale corruption. This is where we are heading with misnamed freeports which then were named enterprise zones. Wake up at the back. Mordaunt kicks the can down the road.

Don't think the Raab stuff will make any difference. If he does get the bullet it will just be framed as him shouting at 'snowflakes'' and Tories love that kind of shit.

probably get a knighthood.
