Harsh on Taylor and Coppell who were very good managers, but I'm leaving them out anyway. Is it Micky Adams or Mark McGhee?

Micky Adams, won a championship and laid the foundations for another, brought in some top notch players (some of whom are still here) - but a bit gobby, strutted around like he'd done everyone a favour and was touting himself for other jobs when he was under contract at this club.

Or is it Mark McGhee - seems like a master tactician and has been brave enough to admit his infrequent tactical f*** ups. Also seems like a nice bloke and we are certainly seeing the benefits of his need not to be seen as disloyal. When he signs a contract, he send out a message to his talented players who haven't committed. On the other hand, playing the devils advocat, what has he done? What would we think if he left now? He took over the club when it was in 5th place, and that is where we finished. Is this masked by the fact that we did get promoted in the play-offs? We're not pulling up any trees in the league but he's doing better than Martin Hinshelwood at this level!

I'm expecting a vote for McGhee but would this be harsh on Adams who helped turn the club around from 5 years of being perrenial losers. NSC decides...

I can't really judge until the end of McGhee's reign.

Still Adams now, he achieved great things from very little. It's harder for McGhee in that what constitutes success for him is less "glorious" (this season, anyway), but at the moment, it's Micky.

And Nobby signed Gary Hart for a grand and a set of kit and what a bargain that was

Did you know Ken Craggs went to watch the first Stanstead game to watch Gary Hart and went to watch the wrong team and had to go back the next week.

Brian Horton started it all by weeding out the rubbish we had at Gillingham but hen not maany supporters would have seen that because it wasnt 'in' to support BHA then.

Or perhaps some people were too young?

Agree with Kinkygerbil, I would vote adams because he laid down the foundation, but Mcghee is heading in the right direction.

50/50 at the moment. Adams for the foundations but McGhee is bringing out the very best in the youngsters and the more experienced.

Don't know about that - Adams bought in that core of Rogers/Oatway/Carpenter in midfield, Cullip at the back. Much of Horton's team didn't last for long, for various reasons - Minton left, Thomas faded, Arnott was exchanged, Walton was sub-standard (at least I think he was a Horton signing).

Too tight to call, there can't be many, if any, clubs in our situation who have continually had such a high calibre of managers in succession in the hot seat.

Micky's good at constructing a team, Mark's good at maintaining one. What a managerial duo they would be!

Bob Booker is the man who can work with any manager.
