Deserves some praise after some of the stick he has received, brilliant in the last few games, quality player. and only 22. Future Albion captain? :clap2:

Definitely captain material. He has really looked solid in the last few games.

Absolute agree, I think the leader in him is shining through at the moment, last few games I've noticed him leading the defence and he has done that very well.

Wont be in the team when Falmer opens. Standard league 1 material (at best). Prone to too many f***-ups and a lack of pace and strength. Playing well at the moment but i'm still hoping Gus will be looking at the centre-back positions come the next transfer window.

Fundamentally disagree, when were/are all these f*** ups? he has performed well for a long time now imo.

Aston villa, the first goal.
This season has been his worse in my opinion. Before this good spell he's hit, he was simply atrocious. Always looked the weak link at the back and everyone saw it hence why he's now getting praise.

You use Aston Villa as an example? ffs. whatever anyway. I don't remember him doing anything particularly 'atrocious' but there you go.

that Marc Albrighton skinned him to shreds in the first half. He made a really sluggish late tackle on Albrighton which he failed on, this resulted in the first goal. There has been alot of stick for a reason and looking at the league table there's surely a reason??

Up until around Jan/Feb he had been appalling this season, but the last couple of months has been a bit better. No dreadful mistakes recently but sadly with Tommy there is always the suspicion that the next one is just around the corner.

He was totaly to blame for Villas first goal by diving into a tackle that was not needed and failed. He has not had a good season apart from the last few games, but then most of the defence havent, so it is not only him. I think that his confidence has come back and that he will have a good finish to the season. I think that he must be a candidate to lead us out at Falmer.

Good to see that the moany gits are out, my main point really was that when players(not just tommy) are playing badly, everyone calls them shit and gives them a load of stick, so why don't people praise them when they do start playing well? (As Elphick has since Poyet took charge imo_ :glare:

How about we concentrate on the here and now, not the past?

To be fair the villa tackle was a Hollywood tackle which is the sort of thing someone off 22 years of age would do playing in front of almost 40k people so you can't base his ability on that. And they are Aston Villa of the Prem!!

I suppose I class as a moany git as I think that generally he has had a poor season and I am sure that he would agree if he was self critical, but he has improved recently and I hope that this form continues. Perhaps it is down to Gus and Maurico talking to him, I dont know, but whatever it is it has worked.

Elphick was already beaten once he made that tackle. He slid in as a last-ditch effort, so any kind of tackle was needed, but in this case, already forlorn. If he'd have stayed on his feet, Albrighton would have still skinned him.
