The boy Walcott remains in the spotlight for his supposed lack of 'final' ball.

I personally think that he will be instrumental in England winning the World Cup but only if used as our super sub. Bring him on after an hour and watch him go. Breathtaking, fearless, relentless PACE with one aim: getting to the byeline before the fullback.

Don't think he is good enough for the World Cup , from what i remember today he didn't get past one defender and get a decent ball in , unlike Aaron Lennon on the other hand who is different class .

Not the finished article.

I still think he has the potential to be one of the best players in the world.

I just see him as a very fast man who can play football very averagely. Perhaps you can enlighten me on how Theo can challenge the likes of Messi?

His body moves faster than his brain, or the two are not in line with each other in some other way. On the break he can be dangerous, but when looking to play our way through a tight defence he's not got the touch to make a real difference.
Also, he's a little bit smart, meaning he lacks that gut explosiveness that ambitious idiots have in them.

lightning pace, bags of skill, but like a kid in the park, doesn't have the head to know how or when to use what. and zero defensive ability, from same lack of understanding of the game around him.

he will defintely be in the 23, just hope after these 2 games capello sees that Lennon is a much better player, i think Walcott will be used in the world cup for certain games but only from the subs bench

He only seems to be good if the ball is played in front of him and behind the defence, in terms of taking on defenders most of the time he is rubbish - he can't even knock it past them and run which he should be able to do with his pace.

Bit of an enigma really, since he's shown he can do more but has done it in about three games in his career to date.

Drive by abusing
I think he is worth including for the time being as an impact player, He's proven he can do it for Arsenal in the past. He's still young & has years of development ahead of him. Some of the criticism aimed towards him has been a bit harsh given he's only 21.
I'd like to see him play a more inside role for both club & country & see how he kicks on from there

As an Arsenal fan it pains me to admit that he just isn't up to it yet. That said, I dont think he was any worse than Lenon who had longer on the pitch but failed to get in threatening positions. At least Theo was keeping them occupied and looking to get involved in the right area of the pitch. He also has far more big game experience than Lenon from playing in the Champs Lge and for England.

I like SWP. Things seem to step up a gear when he gets involved.

In the absence of better options I would take Theo and SWP.

How on earth is Aaron Lennon 'different class'. He is similar to Walcott with his poor final ball but is a tad slower than him but has slightly better dribbling skills. He is actually very much in the same class as Walcott.

Lennon's ability to dribble far outranks him above Walcott at the minute. Yes, the final ball is generally a bit poor, but his knack of sudden changing of direction with the ball generally at his feet is a treasure and can displace opponents with ease.

No chance , Lennon can beat a defender and he also has a good end product unlike Walcott who can't beat a defender and has no end product .
