If I was a left back and had Lennon running at me for 70mins, and then
had theo come on I would probably cry. He has to go. Yesterday was not his best as he wasn't allowed to run at players like he would have wanted. Johnson never overlapped and he was
forced to cut in every time which makes NO winger looked good.

he has to go so he can have 20 minute a game? that more or less acknowledges he will be a passenger. as for being forced inside, he always wants to cut inside, because he wants to go for goal. watching Rooneys body language as pass after pass fails to be made tells the story.

No your right. We should not take any player who is just back up as they are not good enough.

My point is he would be good from the start, but BRILLIANT as an impac player which are often the ones who win it in extra time.

And on the point of crossing, there is literally NO point getting to the bye line and crossing when Rooney is not even in the box, but instead deciding to drop back into midfield(which everyone seems to love) but leaves us COMPLETELY bare up top.

true, and partly my point. if a game based around Rooney is plan A and plan B, Walcott doesnt fit.

Do you understand the concept of a squad?

yes. but its only 23 so i expect every player in that squad to have some versitility. I'd take Walcott as a striker, not as a winger. as a winger he isnt up to standard; as a striker he is 4th or 5th choice. i wouldnt take such a luxury player if it meant leaving J Cole, Lennon and SWP, all better squad players that offer more than one trick.

however, it seems acedemic as it appears all 3 wingers will go as we arent taking cover for Barry.

the difference is walcott gets the ball nd looks slihtly confused so just runs forward without looking which means he loss ball lods and in my opinion cannot cross a ball...Lennon however seems to have more awareness and looks around and if simple pass is on he makes it then makes space for himself s well as making the runs at pace when he can.

Theo Walcott is wasted on the wing, he's not a good enough crosser of a ball to make that position work for him. And when Wenger realised this about Henry, he played up front and he became the best striker in the world, at the time. He needs to play Theo up front and stop all this winger nonsense.

This is the one issue that I'm amazed Wenger hasn't sorted out. He has a striker, in Walcott (can't cross, can shoot), playing on the wing, and Bendtner , IMO a winger (can't shoot, can cross/pass, good technical skills) playing up front.
