Greening's a good shout as quite a lot fits but page 30 in the book says " for the record, another friend who currently plays for United always refuses to be drawn into conversation when I ask him about Ferguson" so that would appear to rule him out.

Discarded by a club as a boy, but then picked up by lower league team (Chesterfield); played for at least 4 clubs and at highest level, played for newly promoted Premiership club, has been relegated; capable of taking on John Terry, was Blackburn's record fee, appears quite bright and maybe should have done more with his career...
