.....will apparently stay shut on matchdays.

OK that's fair enough, if the owners don't want to take advantage of us being there, it's up to them.

I was chatting to the landlord of the "Hammerpot" by the A27 in Angmering a couple of months ago, (the pub that burned to the ground, and re-built in original style) and he reckons takings have risen since the fire by about 300% because of all the publicity. A lot of money.

Don't know what point I'm trying to prove here.

Over to you... GOOD HEALTH!

They would rake in a fortune if they stayed open on a matchday - financial lunacy.

It's a shit boozer anyway (unless its changed in the last two years or so). Even if it was open I'd much have a few minutes less drinking time and have a few pints in Lewes or Brighton.

I'd like a Torquay style bar in the stands where home and away members can mingle and have a chat before and after and where Sky Sports will be on the telly in the corner.

Sounds like a good idea. Anything other then a little hatch selling plastic beer in plastic bottles.

I wonder if they'd sell the Swan. Couldn't we all pitch in a few quid and buy it?

Some of NSC's finest discuss business with the landlord of the Swan:-

Has anyone actually been in there? It has room for about 15 people...

And about 1,500 outside.

That'll go down nicely on a rainy December afternoon then.

Also...where? Presumably there must be a back to it, as the front only has room for about 4 tables.

A few umbrellas, some heaters, Bob's your uncle?

Fair enough. I'm not celebrating the demise of Withdean in order to spend my Saturdays outside in the cold & wet, away from comforts such as seats and the lunchtime Sky kickoff! Each to their own!!:whisky:
