The media coverage has annoyed me as nearly everyone football fan I know prefers Roy.

And seriously, what has Harry actually achieved in football that makes the media so sure he is the messiah. Yes Spurs were entertaining to watch at the start of the season but he has been found out a bit lately in my opinion. They will probably finish 4th this season but 2 4th place finishes with an expensively assembled side and an FA Cup that Portsmouth cheated to win is not a great CV in my opinion. Especially not compared to a guy who took an ordinary Fulham side to 7th and a European final, completely changed West Brom into a decent Premier League team, managed Inter Milan and most impressivley of all took an average Switzerland to 3rd in the world.

Did anyone listen to 5 Live last night? Ian McGarry was being a right twat. He basically spat his dummy out because his bum chum Harry did not get the job. He came out with every reason he could think of why Roy should not get the job.

'Roy's training is boring'
'Roy gets tetchy with the press sometimes'
'Roy has never won anything'
'Roy won't have the respect of the players'
'Roy hates puppies'
'Roy steals candy from babies'

Finally he tried to defend the Sun front page by likening it to people taking the piss out of Capello not being able to speak english! McGarry you are a complete idiot.

Just listened to this on a podcast, couldn't agree more. Was screaming at my computer to just what a arrogant pig McGarry was/is. Capello had 3 1/2 - 4 years in charge of England and when he left his English was no better than the day he started. A bit different to someone who has a lisp, who is clearly articulate and can speak 5 languages. Granted Capello has coached in Spain, so I can't comment on his command of Spanish. But he made no effort to learn our language, so his lack of communication with the England squad was his biggest failure in getting the best out of the players. If he was such a great coach he would of remedied this from the start or made a bigger effort.

Luckily Motson and Claridge put him in his place a little. Also remember watching something on the BBC website where McGarry was saying Balotelli is on par with Cantona in terms of his impact on the Premier League. The man makes himself look like a fool with his red top agenda, just a shame he has such a public platform to air his stupid views to the English public.

England haven't kicked a ball under Hodgson and yet the ridicule has started with The Sun's pisstake of his voice impediment. Would any of the tabloids ripped Harry for his twitching? I think not.

I agree with the bulk of Merson's column. It was a hard job to start with, but the way things have been handled since Capello left has made achieving anything at Euro 2012 and beyond a damned sight harder. They should have at least interviewed Redknapp, if only to have gone through the process so they could say out of the two they preferred Hodgson's approach.

I fully expect there will be players who will be left out of the squad for Euro 2012 who will be happy to have a bitch at Hodgson who wouldn't have dared have a parting shot at Redknapp. Hodgson still has the John Terry question to deal with - oh my days!

I expect The Sun will have a field day making the poor bloke say "John Tewwy" over and over.

I was reading Lewis's colum in the mirror (only because It came up on my twitter feed!) and he is quick to point out the clubs Woy has failed with but fails to mention the blip on Harry's CV southampton....

He goes on to say that the players wanted Harry because of Rooney and Rio's tweets - these tweets were days before we played utd and were more than likely designed to un nerve the team, Correct me if i am wrong but did ANY other player come out and say they wanted him?

Pavilinaire is correct about Terry, he is screwed what ever he does.
