Disagree strongly. That song seemed to sort of mark the end of The Jam era and signal the onset of Weller's self-indulgent Not-All-That post-Jam career. Be honest, it's its a bit shit aye?
Tosh.........You not got "Days of speed"........perfect weller blend.Quite liked the style council and early independent weller but to be honest can't stand any thing
he does now.Gettin a bit McArtnyesk,Bono if you like.

Seem to recall EVERYBODY 'quite liked' the style council, tho seemed at the time that everybody was just going through the motions and didn't want to be the first person to denounce the emperors new clothes. That prick with the hat and the piano ('Mick' something?) was strictly embarrassing, and only JCLs even pretended to like it. Weller will be disappointed with that post-Jam caree. Fact. -Oid.

Eh? English Rose was released in 1978. Before the two songs you mentioned in your previous post

OK if you say so yada yada Foxton & Buckler must have been thinking WTF?! while Weller's barrow boy dad must have been rubbing his sweaty palms together at the thought of all that solo artist royalties coming his way.
