Maybe you're right Lammy, maybe you're right. Perhaps I have been harsh on The Darkness. I'll concede I havn't actually seen too many bands play Live myself personally (although I watch a lot of the MTV "Unplugged" performances and enjoy them). It sounded so similar to the CD version, that I was convinced it was pre-recorded. But I had been drinking heavily, as it was the only way I could get through the entire Brit awards to be honest. I'd be interested to watch them Live again, to check them out, as I'm not totally convinced either way now.

One things for sure though - Duran Duran were definately playing Live. No-one could be that bad on a guitar in a studio and get away with it.

I think Duran Duran shared your sentiments ;)

I'll just have to agree to disagree with Lammy and Raphael Meade on The Darkness then. There were no rough edges whatsoever to their performace - not even the slightest. And I've heard that bloody single enough times to recognise a carbon copy studio performance when I hear it. An 'unplugged' rendition will always, inevitably sound a little different (and thats no bad thing). But they sounded EXACTLY the same as their CD. Every guitar strum, every note, the timing...sorry, but even if you're a number 1 fan of theirs, they ain't that good as to sound exactly the same as the single release from a studio recording.

hehe.. sorry to reserruct the discussion easy but i've been offline for the afternoon.

i would no way say i'm a big fan of the darkness, i do however like them and have had the luck to see them live on two occasions.

both times they have sounded absolutely perfect and as if you were listening to a cd. last night, if anything, i would say i'm surprised they sounded that rough! :lolol:
