It's a fashion. Models and celebrities get them, show them off and the fashion conscious public copies. Practically every celebrity has a tattoo these days because it is fashionable.

& you're wrong, it's exactly the kind of thing fickle people do for the sake of being fashionable. Tribal tattoos, stars, roses, tramp stamps etc etc

I have to agree.

But also there are a lot of people out there who get them becuase they are really into transforming there bodies or want something that looks good.

But there are far to many 16-30 year olds getting shitty tattoos for the sake of it. my Little brother being one, got one becuase he thought it was cool, he realised it wasnt got it covered up and looks a mess, he hates it now and does not represent his personaility at all anymore, he hates it.

My housemate has had her whole back done, I dont particually like it, but she loves it and has done it for her, she designed it drew it and kept the design on her for 18 months and looked at it every day before making the decsion.

My dad has a tattoo. Told me that for the first 5 years he loved it, next 10 he was indifferent to it and last 45 years he has hated it.

Anyone with multiple tattoos looks like a thug and I give them a wide berth. Same with piercings. I refuse to be served in shops by people with either of these abominations. In a supermarket I choose another line; in a small shop if there is no other cashier I leave my purchases and walk out.

What really makes me laugh like a drain is when people come to their senses and decide maybe the tattoos were not such a good idea after all. Bit late then innit.

Best not leave the house then eh? You wouldn't want to meet anyone interesting that doesn't meet your narrow minded criteria of acceptable appearance.

I suspect that when you're laughing "like a drain" at all those sad deluded fools who finally come around to regretting their tattoos that you're doing so alone.

You despise much of society. Once you've filtered out those with disabilities, the forces, economic migrants and those with tattoos, I suggest you stick to internet shopping and pray the delivery driver doesn't qualify in any of those categories.

What ridiculous snobbery.

When I read the first paragraph I thought, no that's someone pullin' my pudding he/she can't be serious. Then I read the second and got that sinking feeling that he/she is for real.

A bit extreme I know, but taking Goldstone's argument to the nth degree he/she would rather be served in a shop by Hitler than some youth with body art and peircings, strange world we live in eh?.
