I agree but as its a 15, no one under 15 would have seen it at the cinema.

Many people have giant LCD TVs with surround sound systems these days. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to recreate the cinema experience for your 11 year old if you were that way inclined.

Also just because it was a 15 doesn't mean kids under that age didn't get to see it. I managed to get in to Terminator 2 and Tango and Cash (both 15s) when I was barely into double figures.

It goes without saying that one of the above movies was distinctly better than the other one.

I've come late to this. I'm guessing the votes for Hook are a joke, yes?

Just noticed this poll has closed and Hook just shades it, which seems to be the right result from the views expressed on the thread.

Thanks for that Bozza.

I am happy to declare the collective film knowledge of the forum North Stand Chat has decided Hook is Steven Spielberg's best film.

The project is ongoing and I will do a page on NSC and the poll and the declaration of Hook being his best film. Still waiting to hear on Mastermind.

I recently introduced my Japanese, Peter Pan, Disney loving girl to Hook. I was pretty sure she'd love it but she hated it with a passion! Her main reasons for hating it were Julia Roberts' Tinkerbell and Robin Williams being "too old":lolol:.

She liked Dustin Hoffman's Captain Hook though.

Hook. Hook? That tells me all I need to know.

Hook. Hook? That tells me all I need to know.

I would say "says the man who said:
Been catching up on a few films from the mid nineties lately. I saw Wall Street this Sunday gone. A young Christian Slater plays a real estate agent in the New York City exchange being mentored/corrupted by a pre Elizabeth Hurley Martin Sheen. Sheen plays it nasty but goes to prison. Slater has never bettered this breakthrough role. They are making a sequel soon I think. I gave it 3/10, excellent.
"

But, I worry I'm missing out on some sort of joke, or quote that would explain how wrong everything in that post is.

why does no one like Amistad
great film watched in stages as it was put on so late at night (before we had a recorder)
and can someone tell me why we don't see close encounters on the TV any longer
and as I have not posted on this thread before
all of his films are great but pushed my 3 would be
Schindlers List
Close Encounters
Private Ryan
