May be a shorter contract though and he won't be first choice.He may fancy the same wages, longer contract at a club he has been at before and guaranteed to be first choice. I my be clutching at straws here bt it is not beyond the realms of possibility.

I think that perhaps relations between our club and them would not be such to make this work.

Maybe they feel they overpaid for Ashley and are giving us a bit of payback.

I would think in excess of £13500 nearer £14k which over 3 yr deal would earn an extra £150k

Who in their right mind, if we are all honest, would take £3k less a week. Shame as I know for a fact his wife and him loved it down here but money talks and we are cautious to the extreme with the green.
