We’d have to manually search for every post he’d made and delete it. Then delete the embedded content within any reply quoting his post.

Aside from rendering any reply absent of relevant context, it would take about 30 seconds to delete each post on average. If we guess that he made 2000 posts and each was quoted twice on average, that’s 50 hours work non-stop. I think you’ll be hard-pressed to find a mod willing to do it!

Is it based on far weaker sentences at the time of the murder? These days I would imagine Norris would spend most of the rest of his life rotting in prison.

As Norris was a juvenile at the time of the murder he would have been sentenced as such (and under whatever the sentencing guidelines were at the time the murder was committed). He was sentenced to detention at Her Majesty's pleasure, with a minimum term of 14 years and 3 months. He’s served those years hence his application for parole. I can’t imagine he’ll get it first time out (and even if he does eventually get released he’ll be on licence for the rest of his life so could be returned to jail for any breach of his licence conditions).

I believe the law relating to the sentencing of children convicted of murder changed in 2021. There is now a sliding scale for the minimum term based on the age at the time of the murder and the seriousness of the offence. So it’s highly likely had the law been in place in 1993 the minimum sentence would have been a lot longer.

Yes. Contrition and co-operation are essential to obtain parole.
There is also 'no longer a danger to the public'.
Protecting racist murderers seems to represent a danger to the public to me.
Why would anyone expect to be paroled if they refuse to co-operate in the pursuit of justice.

While I agree with your post I don't like the fact that to get parole you need to admit guilt - it's why Andrew Malkinson never got parole yet was entirely innocent.

It’s a tricky one. I can understand that admitting guilt is an important part of contrition and rehabilitation, and helps bring closure to the victim’s family. But you’re quite right in that people wrongly convicted are put in an impossible situation. Not sure how to reconcile these two positions.
