I was expecting us to bring in players who would take us that extra mile, tried and tested players as opposed to youngsters who will be great some time in the future....but hey what do I know!

Looks like a very skilful, pacey, direct player with bags of potential. What's not to like? A good signing by the club, I think. And lets not forget that most of the very good players tend to have some attitude. The trick is going to be to use it to both his and our advantage.

Did you not read his post? The transfer window is an opportunity to sign players for the present, future and (hopefully not) the past.
Players who will take us that extra mile will happen towards the end of the window.

As someone else said, read my post. I would agree with you if it was announced as our only signing but it clearly won't be. In the meantime, would you rather we didn't bother to try and sign talented young players as we haven't got out main targets yet?
Yeah let's only bring in tried and tested players, that's an exciting strategy for the club to move forward with eh? Obviously we won't ever end up with any more Inces, Bridcutts or LuaLuas or ever have any chance of unearthing a superstar and selling them on for massive money allowing us to push on to the next level, but at least we'll not have any more that don't quite make the grade. Exciting stuff.

Good to see another exciting youngster signing for the club it can only bode well for the future, Just wish we could sign a couple of decent young strikers for the DS as well as it's one area we are very light on at the moment.

I like his attitude, he has seen that it is possible to break into the first time if he puts the work in, with Ince demonstrating how it is possible to force your way in. It reflects well on the DS squad that other young players are recognising the opportunities it provides. Obviously injuries have accelerated the introduction of DS players, but when they have stepped in more often than not they are up to the task.

Given the inability of any of our wingers to stay fit for more than 3 or 4 games before a hamstring goes pop, I am sure he will get a game or two before the end of the season.
