Season Ticket Renewals

The only thing which sould ever affect my decision to renew would be my ability to afford it.

The standard of football has never been relevant. (If it had been I would only have renewed in about 10 seasons in 40!)

Where we are playing at the moment is the fault only of certain gentlemen who have not been part of club for nearly 10 years. If I get wet then so be it. I know that our current board have done everything they can to take this club to a new ground and I am sure we will get there. That has taken so long is not their fault.

I did not agree with the WHU ticket policy but I don't consider that a reason not to renew.

The ticket prices are higher than they should be but cirmcumstances dictate that. Withdean is a huge drain (in many ways!) and the club have to tread the fine balance between too high ticket prices and too little revenue to cover that drain. Does anyone know where that balance should be? What figure brings in the optimum number of people for the best return? Unless you know that there is no point in guessing.

People have the right not to renew if they think that they are not getting the standard of football they deserve or the ground facilities they deserve.

But I don't think I deserve anything for my money but to see a ninety minute football match with my team playing - good or bad, rain or shine. When did any club ever promise more than that?

Still when the non-STH blame the STH for having no club it will all be too late.

I think Tom Hark PP hit the nail on the head when he said that the term STH seems to be a term of derision on this board!

A commendable outlook Knotty. Although, I think it is a bit harsh to blame everything on Ashley Neal.

Well, he was just about the worst player I have ever see in the stripes!

because of the attitude of certain STHs.

As pointed out earlier, grown men moaning about not getting a £2.50 scarf FFS.

Ho hum.

The club inversted in the extra seats, and then failed to supply the manager with the funds to get a striker in who could have kept us in the Championship, thus justifying the extra seats.

To be fair, the club spent a couple of years jumping through the usual crap park'n'ride planning type hoops just to be allowed to put the seats in. By which time it was too late to fill them.

I thought that was a wind up? I must admit I don't read all the threads on NSC.

Who actually moaned about not getting a scarf?

I know it didn't bother me as I already had one (which was "borrowed" by my son on the day of the Millwall game - he wasn't even at the match!)

Whether STHs renew or not is a matter for them. If there is a significant drop in renewals then it's potentially a serious matter for the club's finances which the board will have to address.

The Board will have to do some pretty smart calculations balancing the loss of up front income against ex Sths buying on a match to match basis at a non discounted rate. Not an easy task.

I will be renewing my STH because I still like my Saturday Afternoon footie and although like most I hate Withdean with a season ticket I do get the seat I like surrounded by some nice folk .

Could not care less about scarves or the STH's must have priority stuff. I queued happily for 4 hours for the Cardiff Ticket and got a West Ham Ticket as I posted my application on the first day the arrangements were announced. If I had missed out, tough. A season ticket buys you a seat in a ground at a discounted rate. Anything else is a bonus.

That's FAR too sensible an outlook. Kindly leave the thread

Could not agree more and I will not be getting one either. The 6 I sit next to are not going to either.

Me and the 8 I've been going with for past 8 years are all having this discussion at the moment - the first time in 10 years so read into that all those who slated the STHs when we didn't get WH tickets. Twas the straw that broke the camel's back. Literally.

Anyway, Buzzer, in defence of Uncle Speilberg, who I don't know from a bar of soap...... it's not always about what YOU say. It's what other people HEAR. And I'm afraid to say, in this context, you come across as a bit of a cock......

Got my first season ticket in 1983 and have had one since - i did try and 'give up' once in 1990 but bought one before the first game of the season. My first season ticket for withdean was on the back of uninspiring performances at gillingham and we were in what is now league 2. We may be back there next season but I will still get one.

I can understand that some may choose not to buy one next year. That is their choice.

However, football has changed for many. It was what you did on a saturday afternoon. now, it's comments like those from US about not feeling 'valued' and not happy with the product on offer.

I do think though that my biggest annoyance about football at the moment is that there are so many people at withdean that i really wouldn't want to pass water on if they were on fire. The world of the internet has given them a kind of personality that sees them become almost caricatures of themselves at games.

But behind all their bitching and argumentative comments you tend to find they are men of straw and will criticise anybody who is doing something to help but wont actually try and improve things themselves.

I keep trying to remember that.

the first basic principle of running a business is to look after your customers, people who have already purchased your product or service, make them feel valued and give them that extra special service and they will most likely keep wanting to use you when they will need the services of your profession again, I try to do this with my business with a 90% success rate, I will not win everytime but this is the key, I think BHAFC need to start following the same principles in my humble opinion.
