Me and the 8 I've been going with for past 8 years are all having this discussion at the moment - the first time in 10 years so read into that all those who slated the STHs when we didn't get WH tickets. Twas the straw that broke the camel's back. Literally.

I think what happened with the west Ham tickets certainly did piss a few people off and now the sniping at said fans is a bit churlish, however, I would have thought it comes down in a lot of cases to economics.

I would have thought the tickets will go up this year possibly in line with inflation which I suppose most people would whinge about but carry on and renew anyway. The board appear to be in a catch 22 in that they need monies to survive and the only real way of doing that is to get bums on seats.....to do this the product must be attractive and affordable. there are a hard core of fans who will renew come what may, pissing these people off will not help as you have said above. I think it is also a problem that we do not nearly fill the stadium now and tickets are relatively easy to get hold of - I was offered a STH ticket for Saturday for £5!!!!

As I said I will probably renew anyway as will my Brother in law who sits next to me, but it is not me the club should be worrying about, its the people like you who are seriously looking to knock it on the head.

people say what the hell if they dont renew....the problem is when you have a st you are almost certainly going to go every game you can....if you dont there is the tendancy to pick and chose.

the first basic principle of running a business is to look after your customers, people who have already purchased your product or service, make them feel valued and give them that extra special service and they will most likely keep wanting to use you when they will need the services of your profession again, I try to do this with my business with a 90% success rate, I will not win everytime but this is the key, I think BHAFC need to start following the same principles in my humble opinion.

Interesting comment really - what kind of extra special service would you consider?

make sure the 4300 feel valued, whether people like it or not they are the people who have committed in excess of £ 1 000 000 each pre season to keep the club afloat. certainly give them priority and a 3 day window of grace for Cardiff, Spurs, West Ham, ask them to bring their season ticket folder for the Millwall game and give them a scarf as they enter, send out a letter NOW, making them feel it is worth considering, before the end of season we want your money, if this was my business I would be bending over backwards to make these small gestures.

The day I see the Albion as a 'product' or 'service' is the day I stop watching them and pop along to Old Trafford every fortnight.

Are you really saying that scarves are the answer? I thought the people complaining about not getting a scarf were joking but are we actually saying that a bit of polyester that might fall apart in two months would make a difference?

there have been threads on here loads of times over the last few years about 'are you going to renew your season ticket' and it is usually the same people who say no - giving a different reason each time - the bottom line is that I think there are some who are 'looking' for a reason not to renew.

its the same principle whether you are selling tickets for a football game or cod and chips, the product has to be good and the loyal repeat customers should be made to feel a bit special

i dont go to my local pub because it is full of self important individuals who like to lecture me about how I should be feeling.

I go to a different pub which actually charges slightly more for a drink, doesn't have a happy hour when I can get there.

and martin perry reminds him that due to the distress he caused many people over the cardiff tickets that he has more chance of jump starting jordan or shilpa shetty than he has of getting a bit of polyester which can be bought for £2.50

So (why am I asking this?)...cut the generalised drivel and be specific: for the rest of this season, what should the club do to make its "loyal" (ahem) customers feel special? Specifics please and note: for the rest of this season.

Or is it just a Monday moan? ???

I have given the little gestures above MOH, I can't see what is go hard to grasp about looking after the season ticket holders, if I was not a sth which I will not be after this season I would fully expect the sth's to be priority and treated higher in the food chain than me, we are not trying to split the Atom here.

Where? I can't find it. What do you want the club to do for the rest of the season? A free scarf and a letter about renewals? Sorry, maybe I've missed it.

It may be to you, but not to me.

There is no way in my right mind I would have paid £835 for a used shirt as I did when buying McShane's Palace winning shirt from last season, I would be mad to do so. Similarly with donations to Alive and Kicking, player sponsorship, Heroes and Winners, REMF etc.

Similarly the money put into the clubs by the Blooms, DK, FBS and co is not an investment, it is a donation to a cause they all support, there is very little chance of that £7million ever coming back to them, and they know it. Yet they get slagged off non stop on here.

Even Bill Archer wrote off £700,000 due to him when he severed connections with the club, according to some on here that makes him a superfan, as it is the equivalent of 1400 season tickets.

No one is denying that things could be run a bit better, but we have non-league levels of administration and office facilities, and as a consequence errors are made and cock ups occur.

Everything has a cause and a consequence, the causes of most of our problems are due to the behaviour and decisions made by former board members, local politicians trying to make a name for themselves, and the fact that Brighton is a built up area.
