The only time I have bought a season ticket following the Albion in over 40 years is when it was bloody difficult to just ring up (or go online) and get one once we had returned to Brigton and started back at Withdean. So 8 years on I find myself booking tickets on a game by game basis now and with a capacity of 22k at Falmer I will almost certainly do the same there unless the club come up with something to REALLY make it worth my while.

I was just comparing paying £1400 for a slightly larger seat and the right to sit or stand in a nice lounge before, during and after a game of potentially league one football with the cost of watching premier league football.

Don't forget though that the Platinum pricing structure at Falmer (£500 or £1000 upfront plus £1400 per season) is the most expensive corporate rate at Falmer. The most expensive corporate rate at the Emirates is £25,000 upfront plus £25,000 per season , and its invitation only.

Maybe our rates aren't that bad in comparison:smile:, and they're fixed for 5 years.

I was always taught that you should never charge a penny less then the market will stand. Seems like the corporate seats will sell out so good job all round.

Yes we will be one of the most expensive in League One with probably the worst ground. Would you swap our situation for Peterboro', Swindon, Yeovil, Exeter and the like. Me thinks not....

Look at the potential that is around the corner will we be in League One over the next couple of seasons.... No.

A Football Club is now a business. To make it successful you need to generate money. With Falmer around the corner and all Boxes and best areas already Sold Out in the new Stadium, prices will always go up.

3% is acceptable.

Lets wait until next season before moaning.

How much money do we generate from seaon ticket sales? £1.5million? so how much more revenue is this 3% going to generate for the club?

They could have done a deal whereby buying a season ticket for next season guarantees first dibs on a season ticket for Falmer. That would generate more interest in next season as well as the first falmer year

It does! STHs will have the first option to buy STs at the new stadium. Come on, keep up! :wrong:

The chairman has spent £90 Million of his own money to build a new ground, and is putting up the cash for a decent side. Its churlish to argue about paying a bit more ourselves, but to comment on the clubs pricing strategy then we need to know the clubs aim. Is it to maximise revenue or get new people through the door? I assume they themselves know and have worked out price accordingly

That will be the team that has won many League 1/Premiership titles, FA Cups, European game and cups, can call upon over 65,000 people to go and watch then regularily, have world class internationals playing for them week in week out, and we are a struggling 3rd division team......Yes good comparison.

I would compare Brighton/ Falmer to Charlton and see if we can emulate them
in season tickets and people actually wanting to come and watch games.

You've missed my point mate, or more likely that i've not explained it properly  and the point is.....personally i think that £1400 per season for the Top Level of corporate hospitality at Falmer ain't that bad. It's not affordable for everyone but for some it is.

I feel the Brighton and Charlton comparison is a fair one. We are both in the South East where supporters incomes and general costs are comparable. At present Charlton season tickets are cheaper than ours, their most expensive tickets (non corporate) are about the same as a South Stand season ticket. However behind the goals they are only £290.

Charlton have averaged 17,000 this season, if we could achieve that at Falmer I am sure we would all be delighted.

On a match by match basis however, their tickets are £25 which is more than us and they do not have a travel voucher (which lest we forget is a non negotiable pre condition of both Falmer and Withdean).

Our percentage of season ticket holders v single match buyers is far higher than Charlton so therefore our season ticket price is higher. As I have said previously I would hope that the North Stand at Falmer will be priced lower than Withdean, with other areas the same price or more expensive depending on the position within the stadium.
