Welcome back. As someone based in (nearly) North East Sussex I appreciate what you guys do even if I'm not in the gang.

All this squabbling reminds me of a saying I am oft to use at work "Success has many fathers; failure is an orphan". Seems about right just now at the Albion, but so what. Was it ever thus.

Seagulls!

In my opinion yes........................... as for promoting ego's your allowed as much as anyone else to have an opinion on that, but you clearly enjoy NSC, and it's contents.

I do like nsc i like the humour,i like the naivity which helps the humour,i like the instant info,i like the memories,i like the mammarys,i like the net working,i find when you do post things from the heart concerning the albion a few too many bits of rotten fruit and veg are chucked, hence i lean towards the silly it goes down better, sometimes to promote the albion you might have to be critical to try to make things better, then its non believer burn him! oh well this is all about peoples onions i suppose. The honey badger is defo the beast of our planet:smokin:

The ticket situation dictated that our existing season ticket holders in the supporters club passed on their +3 tickets to nominated friends/colleages in Seagulls Over Burwash, perfectly fair and above board.
There's the rub.

HAS the "ticket situation" dictated organised promotion of the +3 offer? There are plenty of good people who are of the opinion that it's the +3 offer that has CREATED the "ticket situation".

Both points of view will be expressed - and expressing a point of view on NSC inevitably leads to a flaming argument. Chill out, people.

I've done this all off my own back and have been going to the Albion regularly since 1975, Im 41 now, certainly no boy-scout. We have managed to garner 70+ members (many are oaps, children and regular Albion fans) for Seagulls Over Burwash with only 4 or 5 of them being non-regulars if you like but ALL have been to Withdean at some point in the past and all are Sussex lads and friends. Many people simply can't afford a ticket but we've included them as members because they may get the chance to go in the future to The Amex and more importantly want to. be part of it.

The ticket situation dictated that our existing season ticket holders in the supporters club passed on their +3 tickets to nominated friends/colleages in Seagulls Over Burwash, perfectly fair and above board. As we are in North East Sussex it seemed a good idea to start a coach up as no park and ride will exist north of Lewes (as far as we know), BHA FC are also very keen on this idea from a sustainable transport point of view. I also want to extend links with Albion In The Community and get them up to this long forgotten part of East Sussex.

Unfortunately my dad died two years ago, he won't see the ground and we set the club in his name as it was always something he wanted to. I certainly don't need the grief but I love the football club and want it to move on instead of 'limping' along like it has for at least 25 years.

It's a shame there are not a few more people willing to channel their efforts into something very positive like this, as opposed to wasting hot air on here. Good luck.

Sorry but I've got less than zero respect for the boy scouts frantically organising coaches to our shiny new stadium from places that never had a coach all the time we were at Withdean. Where were you when our stadium was shit? We needed you more in the past than we do in the future. Anybody can jump on the success bandwagon. Just ask American Express.

I’m sorry I usually enjoy your contribution on this board but that attitude f***ing stinks IMO.

Hats off to all the people like yourself who have supported the club during the dark days but can you really blame people for staying away from Withdean and reemerging now the Amex draws nearer?

I’m sure there are many like me who have been put off by the Withdean experience but are now very much looking forward to getting a season ticket at Amex, call me soft but getting pissed on in an uncovered stand doesn’t really appeal to me.

Had it not been for a similar club organising buses from Horsham in the Mid 70s I wouldn't have found The Albion. Personally (and it's only my opinion) I want thousands of new fans at The Amex, I want us struggling to get tickets, I want us to have people locked out of games due to demand, the club needs to flourish. The term "sleeping giant" is overused but I truly believe we are going to go from strength to strength and will be in the Premiership by 2015.

Good luck Burwash and all fans, please don't even try to justify "new" fans it really doesn't matter where they come from every fan has to be a newbie at some point, fact ...

This is not having a pop at anyone on this board WHATSOEVER, however does anyone else get the irony of when we as supporters used to scorn the likes of Reading etc with the chant " where were you when you were shit?".

I suppose Reading and the likes needed fans to come back to the club from the days at Elm park where they used to get 3,500!....in the same way we do and are activly persuing now.

I couldn't disagree more with this. We currently have 4000 regulars and we need another 11000 to fill the new stadium and this protectionist BS does nothing but alienate new fans. Getting pretty sick and tired of all the bleating about ST's on here this week. Everyone will get one, and they will be good seats too, and not only that it looks like we will fill the bloody thing so we will not be stuck with a Darlo-esque white elephant. The way that current STH's automatically assume that all new STH will be disinterested PL fans is quite frankly ridiculous and insulting to our new fan base.

10 years ago I was DFL JCL who heaven forfend actually started to support my local team rather than continue to partake of the premiershite circus. Now I have had a decade of petition signing, marching, rain drenched matchdays, comical defending, abject hoofball, hilarious away trips, aswell as moments of pure joy behind me, and I would not begrudge any new fan that experience.

In my opinion the Burwash boys are doing a terrific job in reviving Albion support in the far reaches of the county, this is exactly what the club needs NOW when we have to reconnect with a population that has lost touch with the club. The sly digs and withering insults should be beneath us but apparently not. Shame...

There's no folk as hypocritical as football supporters. Also in our recent repertoire have been...

"shit ground no fans"
"cheerio cheerio cheerio" (10 minutes before the end)
"shall we sing a song for you"
"you're supposed to be at home"
"is there a fire drill"

...all of which could be equally applied to our home games.

Additionally we give it the ironic cheer when the home fans trot out their first homophobic chant aimed at us, seemingly forgetting that we happily use every stereotype going ourselves.

To be fair this is mainly down to Withdean isn't it. Dave - dont ever compare us to fecking Reading - Reading sold 5.5k HALF season tickets the yr they won the Championship I think and were'nt filling half their new ground when it was built. We used to get massive gates at the Goldstone and have been regularly selling Withers out in the run up to Falmer - we're nothing like Reading although there will be an element of 'new supporters' at Falmer - there will also be a lot who haven't gone to home games since 97... It's not the same!

At least we will have a new song to sing amongst ourselves.

Hmmm...agree with the sentiment, but to say we were getting "massive gates" at the Goldstone is stretching the point a little. The numbers dwindled drastically over the 80's and 90's (understandably), and even the season we made the Playoff Final in 91 we only averaged about 8k.
