Ukraine strategy is very simple. Remove the ability of Russia to manufacture and supply kit to the front. It’s a tad difficult to fight a war without arms, ammunition and equipment.

According to Steve Rosenberg today, Russian newspapers are reporting “alarming “ signals in the economy. Things must be bad if government controlled media is reporting in that way. It seems ( not surprisingly) that one of the few growth sectors is the defence industry.
Large numbers of oil refineries in Russia going up in smoke is clearly having an effect.

If we had told ordinary Russians about it, perhaps things would have been different.
But Putin has had decades, generations, to hone his skills of shaping and controlling the Russian public.
