Just shows how bad our recruitment is when it comes to players other than defenders.

As said that was the direction I was heading, but, in what is a sackable offence for NSC, after Raf I'd forgotten the name of Calleri, so unsurprisingly the 'look at what we could have won' point rather fizzled out.

Oh and Youseef En - thingy is still yet to score this season. :nono:

Pay as you play is a buzzword for every football fan these days. Name ANY Premier League footballer who has signed a pay as you play contract. I'll wait.

Andy Carroll signed one this summer to go back to Newcastle.

Sort of......basic 22.5k a week, more if he actually plays.

Exactly.

That is how they work, they are significantly discounted wages (not zero) which are then topped up with excessive appearance money.

Awful for him, just hope he has good health away from football.

It does show how the club were right, and makes a mockery of Zurich's comments.

Exactly this.
In many ways it’s good that the club uncovered it, for Raphael’s benefit.

Zurich were a little silly, but probably saw a big payout.

They should apologise - not necessarily publicly but they should.

Also baffling as to why Levante signed him (not sure on fee) on a 4 year deal after we had unearthed this issue!

Edit - £5.58 million apparently! Madness. But less than we were gonna pay. Wonder if there could be a salah style issue on the fee now...

He had an ICD fitted in 2020, so I imagine it was a cardiac arrest rather than a heart attack.

Still not the most pleasant experience.

17 in 32 La Liga matches this season, and 6 in 8 Champions League matches...

(yes, I'm aftertiming, deal with it)

The club can't half spot strikers for other clubs, can't they?

Collapsed last night at Linz.

I hope he now does the sensible thing, and retires.
