I was out of the room for a few minutes and came back to see United had the penalty and saw Rashford tuck it home.
I then saw the replay for the penalty and thought it was a stone waller. It was only opening this thread did I know that it hadn't originally been given on-field, and had needed VAR.
On a wider VAR point - am I the only one that finds it bizarre that players have a moan-up at the ref when a VAR decision goes against them? He didn't make the decision, so there's little point having a go at him.

Speaking of Potter + James I remembered this (2:55 onwards). He is not a man of big words but Ihere he is so insanely enthusiastic about James. Will take some time though; they need to destroy him a bit first.

Because they have a knack of winning tight games. Only one victory by more than 1 this season and that was 2-0 versus Norwich. Sooner or later that knack will desert them I hope. Won't stop them getting wood over a high win rate in 2019 though.

All goals have VAR checks, the nature of the beast means you are expecting it to be ruled out for some slight infringement

No not really, they didn’t pack the defence or anything like that. Palace had very little threat through the middle, their main attacking (unsurprisingly) was down the wings through Zaha and Townsend then Ayew once Benteke replaced Townsend. In the main Watford killed their attacks at source by committing professional fouls on the halfway line, in the process rattling Zaha as he’s prone to do. Whilst Zaha and Townsend will need watching I think that as long as we stay on our feet and have bodies in the way centrally they’ll struggle to score. In defence Cahill had a steady game for them, but if we can isolate Tomkins we should have a bit of joy, Connolly (if he’s fit) will love going up against him.
It’s a derby so a difficult one to call, but I didn’t really see too much to worry about, Zaha hasn’t hit the heights of last season yet (although he should be up for it against us) and Townsend seems to have lost a bit of his zip. Ayew works hard up front without really looking that dangerous and Benteke will win the odd high ball into him but does little else.
We might well lose, but I’m not feeling as much trepidation this season as in past years, perhaps that’ll change after we’ve got Wolves out the way. Palace only really play one way so hopefully GP will work out a way to counter them.
I don’t think they can, there is serious heat on them atm.
When players surround the ref, post adverse VAR decision, they come across as a bit thick.
Unable to adjust from the ingrained tactic of trying to bully officials.
