Completely this.

This suspension was absolute bollocks.

If they don't want him at the club for whatever odd reason then they need to pay him off.

It's not Poyet that wanted to go, it's the club that wanted rid of him, and have done for most of the season.

You know nothing factual. I suggest you keep your definitive rhetoric to yourself until there are some facts to debate. Are you a Mod? If so you should know to keep your trap shut.

If the club want him gone, they need to grow some balls and sack him. Pay him off and start again. All this needs resolving and we need to move on.

Or work it out with him and start building for next season.

So you're OK when we miss out on the next £2.5m striker cause Gus took the money?

Because, because, who knows maybe they did the investigation and found nothing that could stick and he holds all the cards now with the new season looming

It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case. If it is then the club has got itself into a pretty bad place - an assistant that they've pissed off but had to re-instate and a manager that can hold the club to ransom.

Conjecture again . I agree it's getting to the stage where it's going to start messing us up but still mostly conjecture

Shows what contempt Poyet holds the club and the fans in. If he had any dignity he would walk away with his payment and we could all get on with the future. But it's all about himself. It's a shoddy way to treat the club that basically put you on the map as a manager. I'm sure other clubs are looking on with great interest and Poyet is doing himself no favour's long term....Approach with caution.

It is surprisingly hard through the disciplinary process to develop a case that couldn't be questioned by good lawyers. As an employer this means I wouldnt start the process without a 99% certainty that it would end with dismissal particularly with millions at stake. If the club have entered into this hastily without clear evidence that would be extremely foolish as Poyet would be able to claim damages and insist on returning to work unless paid off. If as suggested they have made him an offer financially this worryingly seems likely.

I know you'll never see it BUT what if the shoddy treatment was the other way round ? Wouldn't you hold out for the biggest payment possible ?

It's all a shame coz he's a super manager. It'd be great if we could get some Alien technology, wipe everyones minds and start a new season again with Poyet. That's how I feel anyway. All leaves a nasty taste in the mouth, when all we really want is to enjoy the beautiful game - and Poyet was certainly a great conductor imho.

D-Day looms for Poyet

9:00am Saturday 15th June 2013 in Sport By Andy Naylor

Gus Poyet is facing a disciplinary hearing
Gus Poyet is facing D-Day in his fight with Albion.

The Seagulls’ suspended manager has a disciplinary hearing with club officials on Monday.

It is unclear when a final decision will be made about allegations of several breaches of contract by Poyet.

But a verdict is expected by the end of next week as preparations for next season gather pace.

The fixtures are published on Wednesday and the players are due to report back at the end of the month, although they have been told their return date may be delayed.

Poyet will face the music after returning from a break in Spain.

The Argus understands The Uruguayan has already rejected one financial offer to settle the dispute and sever his ties with the club during an exhaustive four-week investigation into his conduct.

Albion announced the suspensions of Poyet, his assistant Mauricio Taricco and coach Charlie Oatway on May 16, three days after the Seagulls were knocked out of the Championship play-offs by arch-rivals Crystal Palace at The Amex. Taricco’s suspension was lifted on Monday but the sanctions against Poyet and Oatway have remained in place.

The Argus flagged up the likelihood of Poyet leaving in April, after he had been targeted by Reading.

He has clashed with chief executive Paul Barber, who was on the Board at Spurs when he lost his job as No. 2 to Juande Ramos.

Poyet’s spending and areas of power and influence have been reined in as part of cost-cutting measures to keep Albion within the boundaries of new Financial Fair Play rules, which take effect for Championship clubs next season.

The tensions behind the scenes have also prompted a breakdown in his relationship with chairman and owner Tony Bloom.

Poyet’s immediate job prospects if he is shown the door have suffered another blow with the appointment by Wigan of former Bolton and Burnley boss Owen Coyle.

That means there are no current vacancies in the Premier League or Championship.

Poyet’s best hope is a change of manager at Swansea, where Michael Laudrup has been unsettled by the Welshmen’s transfer policy, or Fulham, where Martin Jol’s future has been under scrutiny.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins, a known admirer of Poyet, is expected to make a move for him if, as sources in Wales are predicting, Laudrup goes.

Poyet has been close to landing the Swansea job twice previously. He was interviewed and narrowly missed out to Paulo Sousa four years ago, then was linked again at the end of his first season with Albion when Brendan Rodgers took over at the Liberty Stadium.

Poyet is firm favourite with bookies to become Swansea’s next permanent manager and an even hotter favourite to take over from Jol at Craven Cottage.

Former Barcelona midfielder Oscar Garcia Junyent is the odds-on favourite to replace Poyet at The Amex after leading Maccabi Tel Aviv to the Israeli title last season. He is followed in the betting by Harry Redknapp, Tim Sherwood and Karl Robinson.

Ha. Knickers in a twist over that?! Perfectly plausible that the offer was for him to give us £1million or something. If the charges against are watertight, can sack without any need for compensation. So, Gus is in the wrong, is he?!

Oh and tremendous work by the club if this happens. Surely this is the quote of the article. We might delay the players return?!

None of us know, or are ever likely to know, the full story of who did and said what to end up in this mess. What seems clear to me though is that most will see more blame on Poyet's side, and that perception is entirely his fault for the way he has conducted himself publicly. He should learn a lesson in respect and humility from this, otherwise his undoubted abilities will end up wasted. Very sad all round.

We are in a very bad situation - been saying it since the off.

Gus is the most stubborn human in football I have every seen, he might as well stay and Bloom giving him cash to do his job. Maybe TB can renegotiate his contract in terms of giving him cash to get us up this season, if he fails he has to walk.

Can't see an end to this unfortunately - looks like a long season ahead.

The other way around??? The club have always stood firm behind Poyet, given him all the tools to do the job. Stood by him as he shoot his mouth off time and time again. He may well be around for many years to come, but I doubt he will work for a better chairman that Tony Bloom and this is how he repays him.
