In Tokyo on work laptop this week so can't upload that latest bunch yet Dave, suffice to say will do so with gusto as soon as I get home.....
Just bought some more mad Japanese ska, finally tracked down TSPO's double live "On Tour" package, only had the single disc previously, and picked up an intersting light poppy reggae one called Sakura Reggae by Soft Punk which has 3 Mad Professor dub versions on it - go figure...

reggae and ska is massive there. Some good soundsystems as well.. Mighty Crown and Unity to name but two..Mighty Crown had 30,000 at a stadium in Japan recently for an anniversary dance..

The Opening Set has Betty Swan , Patty and the Emblems with their ( Mixed Up , Shook Up Girl) Dickie Wonder and the brilliant (Nobody Knows) together with The Okaysons and The Dynamics. The Mid Set has Geno Washington , The Epitome of Sound plus a RARE SPIN from Cliff Nobles with (Judge Baby) , Skull Snaps and a couple of flipsides follow. The Final Set has Baby Washington, The Shirelle's (Baby It's You) Clyde McPhatter and Arthur Conley close out the mix.

Etta James and her Powerful (Somethings Got a hold on) Me kicks off the set, The Companions and their rare spin ( Be Yourself ) closely followed by the Wonderettes and the rare NS Spin ( I Feel Strange). the brilliant , love it or hate it Rocky Fellas and their brillant (KILLER JOE) close out the first set. The Second set keeps it right there in NS Bliss with The Mirrets and (He's Alright With Me) together with Mamie Galore and her brilliant Uptempo (It Aint Necessary). I was emailed an mp3 by the brilliant Lost Souls (Secret OF Mine) new for 2010 It sounded so good i had to include it on this release. will you spot this modern NS brilliance? As usual the final set contains some downtempo NS Classics and a touch of R&B crossover from Joe Diamond ( Dont Set Me Back) A Billy Stewart double (Look Back & Smile) and (Sitting In The Park) is also on this mix. The sublime Checkmates and their perfect (Black Pearl) and Jerry Butler close out the mix...
