Pearson tried to sign McArthur in the summer but he went to Palace instead so McArthur clattering into Pearson in the technical area might not seem so unintentional as at first thought.

The Leicester player tripped McArthur up and Pearson didn't even see what happened.

There were many who showed their disappointment when we did not achieve promotion last season,no doubt the majority who only became supporters when the Amex was completed, the fact that we are only just outside the relegation area at present indicates how fortunate we were to avoid a complete disaster.

I don't tend to get too wound up about the off the ball antics but it has been very weird watching the collected football press set coyly trying to pass off Pearson's behaviour as just 'bizarre', when, if it was many other football characters who are less highly thought of, there would be outright furore over the fact that he is basically pinning someone to the floor with his hands around their throat.

Impossible to say how we would have competed.

Even if we were currently in Leicester's position surely thats got to be better than facing a prospect of life back in League 1. We would have loads more funds to rebuild the team if we eventually dropped back into the Championship.

He was on a final warning from the board, after his recent foul mouthed bust up with a fan.

Leicester City Football Club would like to clarify its position relative to its manager, Nigel Pearson.

Contrary to media speculation on Sunday evening, Nigel remains the Club’s First Team Manager. Reports to the contrary are inaccurate and without foundation.

Nigel, his staff and the first team squad are entirely focused on Tuesday night’s trip to Arsenal and our continued efforts to secure our position in the Barclays Premier League.
