I saw this on BBS, including the post about MANY Arsenal fans getting in without tickets by jumping the barriers and came to the conclusion that almost all of the posters on there are teenage gimps.

At least it goes to show that almost every poster on there, with their big bravado, never really went to The Amex last year.

And as for the one knobber wanting tickets for the home ends, well I hope he ends up near me.

Ohhh scary!

Seems fair. However, I don't expect about 5000 empty seats at the Amex - as there was at Selhurst in December.

There was 6,195 empty seats at Smellhurst in December , don't know how many would have been in the "sterile area" though

Palace fan at university :lolol:

Yes, surprising. Also surprising which university he has chosen to attend!

You sort of think that if Croydon had its own university, no self-respecting Albion fan would go there (especially if its main campus was next to Selhurst Park).

As we all know it doesn't have its own university though.... then, I thought, before posting this, I'd better check that some jumped up polytechnic hasn't renamed itself the university of Thornton Heath or some such.. and guess what?

University Centre Croydon

And, even more amusing, guess which real university it's had to come to in order to get its degrees validated!

Is this game going to be on telly?

AFAIK there will only be a beam-back to Smellhurst. If they do it professionally it will be an encrypted feed on one of the satellites with a European footprint.

The BBS quote from the OP is obviously complete fabrication. However it does highlight once again, the interesting question of Student discounted tickets. As a two University city (not to mention the plethora of language schools), Students directly & indirectly account for 1/3 (1bn) of the Brighton & Hove economy; take them away and you'd lose that invigorating and ever changing dynamism that makes Brighton the best city to live in in the country. Brighton would slowly decay into a turtle hive like Eastbourne or maybe even drop to the status of Hastings as one of the most deprived areas of the UK.

I don't believe our great club should offer a Student discount for all games but rather, there should be a cut off period of 48hrs or 24hrs before the match when Student discounted tickets would kick in. I realise in practice, no Student discounted tickets would be available if we were ever to get to the Premiership but I'd like to think the club could offer an affordable special discount once every other fan had had their chance to purchase a ticket. There are thousands of Students resident in Falmer.

Brighton has a knack of keeping hold of it's graduates, they don't like to leave the city once their degree is over. You will find graduates in every single trade/job in Brighton. They could move to somewhere like Hull or Slough and get a graduate job but prefer to stay in Brighton and maybe sweep the street; because of it's unrivaled culture, coolness and maybe in the future. . . . football team. Lets give the Students a chance to experience the magic of the Amex & the passion of the Albion and fill our stadium by giving them dirt cheap tickets at the last minute. you never know, we could be indoctrinating thousands of new BHA STHs like McDonalds does with young children and happy meals?
