Because football violence is premeditated organised violence and not a drunken spur of the moment attack.

When those thugs attacked there were little children around who were probably scared out of their wits.

Hope this sets a precedent for all future football violence.

Is it ALWAYS premeditated? Were the palace fans waiting for that specific train?

I am not saying they should be let off, just that other people guilty of just as serious assaults should be given similar justice.

Last week for example I saw a case of a man who had regularly beaten his partner over a number of months subjected her to mental and severe physical abuse.

He didn't get as long as these thugs.

Yes that attack was premeditated!

And i agree with you that most sentances are far too leniant for assults in this country

I would disagree

Why would you disagree?

Evidence has shown that most football violence in this country is premeditated and organised.

There was a documentry on tele about this a little while ago and was fully investigated by the police and the football league.

Will try and find it and put a link on here.

How can some of you sit there and say the violence is a "spur of the moment" thing??

It doesn't take a genius to search the net for the hundreds of UK Firm websites for different clubs!

I think there you will find most attacks are pre-arranged!

Some pre-arranged yes. Many possible more by chance - running into another firm with the police nowhere to be seen etc.

The number of clashes which happen between clubs who are not even playing each other but bump into each other at tube and train stations is a prime example of this.

british transport police had a bit of a crackdown on incedents on trains arrising from firms meeting going too and from matches on parts of the rail network
