Am I the only one that thinks 3.5 years prison is a tad harsh ?

Depends on whether you think chavs beating up a father outside his house for protecting his property should get 3.5 years or not? At the end of the day, it's the same thing!

Spending at least one day a week in court through work the number of people who are up for fighting in town centres or attacking innocent people who actually end up in jail is minimal.

I don't see why it should be different for people at football.

Should be consistent across the board for violence.

Because football violence is premeditated organised violence and not a drunken spur of the moment attack.

When those thugs attacked there were little children around who were probably scared out of their wits.

Hope this sets a precedent for all future football violence.

Harsh sentences imho. Those involved must have had previous, you don't get 40 months inside for an assault, unless it's GBH, and even for that 40 months would be considered a heavy sentence, unless you'd physically/mentally scarred someone for life.
