keep you on your toes, match to match, with wondering what incomprehensible gubbins their angry signwriters will splurge out next?

As England manager Roy got us knocked out at the group stage of a World Cup Finals for the first time since 1958. He had us at our lowest FIFA ranking in 20 years, had Harry Kane taking corners and then resigned when Iceland knocked us out of the Euros. At one time, the whole nation was out for his blood. He withstood all that only to be broken by the minor whinges of entitled kids with a situationism fixation?
Got to feel a bit sorry for him, only accepted this season to help out because no one else wanted the job.

You are quite right, but he should not have excepted and should not have been asked.

It was only the great football ( relatively) we were playing in the last 10 games of last season and everyone got a bit excited.

I do genuinely feel sorry the way it’s ending but Roy should have said no and the board should not have asked in the first place.

Not sure which is the best thread to put this but I hope Roy is o.k.

It's difficult not to think that his ill health has been caused by the strain/stress of the last few weeks but hopefully it's just exhaustion rather than anything too serious. I've enjoyed laughing at the state of Palace recently but I don't want that to be at the expense of anyone's genuine health.

Hopefully he'll have a full and speedy recovery and we can go back to laughing at Palace whether he's still manager or not.

Thoroughly decent man, so yes hope he's OK. Does make it impossible to sack him at the moment. Perhaps they will force him to retire due to ill health, kind of hope they don't, disrespectful.

I had hoped they'd find a dignified way for Roy to bow out, I think it's been complicated even more now. Wish him all the best and hope he's back to good health soon.

So @loz relegation six pointer tonight, how do you see it going? For me it's a huge pivotal point in your season, win and there's daylight between you and the bottom four (five if Forest are deducted points) and lose and you're right in the mix!

You are best off ignoring Palace when it comes to relegation.

They are absolutely shit, certainly, and they have a comedy ancient ground devoid of any redeeming features - but when it comes to relegation they are the jammiest club in football. Even when they look nailed on to go down, they will be rescued by one or possibly even two ten point deductions. It's just pointless expecting Palace to get their richly deserved desserts.

TBH, I sort of forgot it was on, I am leaving my job on Wednesday so have other things on my mind.

But as you have asked, Palace have been awful on set pieces this season so I suspect Dyche will send in as many high balls crosses and free kicks into the penalty area, so I think we will lose.

I am pretty ok with relegation although I am aware that the club wouldn’t be. Every game is a mission at the moment the crowd seem so tense and angry. It used to be fun. Now you might think it’s because we are not very good at the moment but looking around where I sit the demographic has changed along with expectations, even 8 years ago when we went 3 down before half time against Sunderland there was a gallows humour, if that happens now it turns poisonous, people seem very angry !

Also this is 2 games on the trot playing Monday night, I miss more games than I see these days !

Good luck with the next job.

Probably, but I definitely wouldn't rule out a turgid 0-0

Agree - but this is absolutely not unique to Palace. You see it everywhere (Chelsea are good for this) - fans incandescent with rage when their team gets beaten. Its odd, to be honest. Someone has to lose.

100% with you on this. Monday night games are properly shit. Two in a row for one club is a piss-take, and the rules should not allow that to happen. I think Wolves also had two in a row a few weeks back (one against us).
