The individual performances of Cook, Root, Anderson and Broad in this series have papered over the cracks. Simply woeful performances with the bat thus far, and Pakistan have out-gunned us 5 centuries to 1, fed by our inept spin bowling and mediocre fielding.

Absolutely spot on. Nobody ever gets big scores except Cook and Root, and as you say, our spin bowling is feeble. And I'm with you regarding this "deserved" England win in the first game. We nearly pinched it after dreary 4 days batting on a road - good effort to nearly conjure a result from that, but not really the dominant performance that would make you say it would have been a deserved win.

The only team capable of chasing this target is.....Pakistan. We had no hope once it went past 230, Stokes can't hold a bat,once Cook goes it opens up and Moeen and Bell. Other than Cook and Root and maybe Taylor we have little fight....England all out 192.
