Do we need an NBA playoff thread too?

As the Knicks failed to qualify: going from 2nd to 9th in one season then NO>

For whats its worth I think the East is where the action is. The Heat, Pacers, Bulls and Nets will probably get through to the semis. A Heat v Pacers final will be electric.

Another season of bitter Hurricane disappointment :( 7th in Metro, although at one point we were only a few points off making a push for a playoff space. Alas, Staal alone isn't good enough to be a captain - good alternate but we need a sodding Brind'Amour.

LA Kings become only the 4th team in NHL history to come from 3 games down to win 4-3 against San Jose. They will play the Anaheim Ducks in round two. New York progress to play Pittsburgh (thought Lyndhurst would be happy) and Minnesota never ahead in the series win game 7 in OT to also progress and will play Chicago.

Eastern Conference

Boston Bruins 4 (4) v Detroit Red Wings 2 (1)
Tampa Bay Lightning 3 (0) v Montreal Canadians 4 (4)
Pittsburgh Penguins 4 (4) v Columbus Blue Jackets 3 (2)
New York Rangers 2 (4) v Philladelphia Flyers 1 (3)

Western Conference

Colorado Avalanche 4 (3) v Minnesota Wild 5 (4)
St. Louis Blues 1 (2) v Chicago Blackhawks 5 (4)
Anaheim Ducks 5 (4) v Dallas Stars 4 (2)
San Jose Sharks 1 (3) v Los Angeles Kings 5 (4)

So round two looks like this…

Eastern Conference

Boston Bruins 0 (0) v Montreal Canadians 0 (0)
Pittsburgh Penguins 0 (0) v New York Rangers 0 (0)

Western Conference

Chicago Blackhawks 0 (0) v Minnesota Wild 0 (0)
Anaheim Ducks 0 (0) v Los Angeles Kings 0 (0)
